Condolences
Elaine was my primary school teacher at Acadia in Calgary. My heartfelt condolences to her family. Rest well Miss Templeton.
Elaine was one the best cousins anyone could ever have. She always had a smile and a good hearty laugh. Elaine was a cousin and a friend, that we enjoyed visiting. Elaine was a great ambassador for Calgary. As an Educator she was an inspiration. I (Loretta) was privileged to observe her in classroom. Joyce and I recall fondly our last visit with Elaine at our Templeton family reunion in Swan River, Manitoba. Ross and Gordon our hearts and prayers are with you. Elaine, rest in a well deserved peace.

Elaine was many things to so many people...colleague, friend, mentor, leader, teacher. She gave her all to her students and her friends. Our days at Woodlands were so special, full of sharing, caring and having fun too. I treasure the years with her there, and the years after when the Woodlands Group met for breakfasts, lunches or celebrations. We will celebrate you, dear Elaine, when we can all connect. Our heartfelt sympathy to Ross and Gordon.

In the fall of 1973, I first met Elaine at Ethel M. Johnson school. I was a newly graduated teacher, in need of practical advice and encouragement. Elaine embodied professional camaraderie and friendship toward me. She offered from her experience just what I needed. I used to love listening to her as she excitedly praised one of her students for their success.
A handful of years passed, and I retired to start a family. A group of five of us from EMJ, teachers all, including Sharon McKenzie, Janet Sorochan, Dora Wilson, Elaine and myself met monthly at each others homes for years. It was often an uproarious time, much valued and anticipated. Elaine's love of friends and teaching was often on full display.
May I extend my deepest sympathy to you, Ross and Gordon. I will miss Elaine.

I Loved Elaine like a mother. Ross took me in when my father did not want me anymore. Elaine accepted me in their lives and I have great memories of us dancing and laughing. Elaine will be missed. I love you always.

I have so very many fond memories of Elaine from our teaching and friendship days at Wildwood School. Team planning times with another teacher friend and Elaine included lots of laughter and often end up being supper meetings. Elaine was our awesome organizer of social evenings for a group of Wildwood Staff and former staff friends. She was a very generous and caring person who always wrote wonderful and heartfelt notes to others. Elaine's travel albums that she shared were beautiful. Other Wildwood friends and myself have lots of pictures of happy times spent with Elaine. Memories are precious!
Condolences to Ross and all those who loved her and have heartfelt memories of Elaine. We worked together at Woodlands School and I have many memories of what an awesome educator she was. She created life experiences for her students and taught to the adult she hoped they'd become. When there was a class party, she taught lessons on nutrition, tradition, manners and etiquette so the party became a total experience. When she taught the students questioning techniques, she invited a well know set of twins into the class to be interviewed by the students...and it was an astounding event to behold. She was a consummate teacher and went the extra for the needs of each student. She could be great fun on staff and her smile would light up a room. I remember once she came into my office and said that she had come to me many times that week with serious things and if every staff member had done the same...well I had had a very busy week and so I should take the weekend to recuperate...She was thinking about others and that was her way. May she rest in peace.

Sending love and prayers for Ross and her brother. Elaine was a kind, giving, and caring person. She was always at the church helping out and giving of her time and talents. She also inspired several generations as a teacher.
Cherish the memory of all your amazing travels together. Rest In Peace. Donna K

My sincere condolences to you Ross and to Gordon, in the sudden passing of dear Elaine. Your tribute was so fitting of her and covered the wonderful person and friend she was to me for almost forty years! From my teaching days with Elaine at both Ethel M Johnson and at Woodlands, she was also a dear friend with a group of four from EMJ days who met every other month for a punctual lunch and a fun time together. I also have fond memories from special breakfasts & celebrations with the Woodlands staff. Elaine was indeed, a marvelous teacher and lived her dedication to teaching and her faith in flamboyant style. I hold treasured memories of dear Elaine.
Condolences to Ross and Elaines family. I taught with Elaine at Jennie Elliott. We had a lot of fun times together as part of the Jennie girls. She was always upbeat and ready to join in. I later had the privilege of having her as a teacher in my children’s school. Although they were never in her class, they enjoyed her many noon hour club offerings. She will be missed!
My most heartfelt condolences to Ross and Elaine’s family. I will always remember the good times with Elaine while teaching at Wildwood School. She was one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever known. I so much enjoyed listening to her many interesting stories of her travels and seeing her lovely travel albums. Receiving her notes of encouragement, inspirational quotes and funny jokes after I retired was always a highlight. Elaine was loved by many and will always be fondly remembered. Rest In Peace, dear Elaine.
