Condolences
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Iles. When I was 5 and 6 years old she taught me baton in the low-ceiled basement of her home. I was never very good, could never march on-beat and could never match that dazzling smile of Jody’s that would always win over the judges. They are fond memories. I remember thinking what a beautiful lady Mrs. Ilse was and thinking Beverley was the prettiest and most amazing baton twirler ever. Cindy, Marshal and I rode horses together—Cindy and I riding probably the world’s nastiest little ponies—mine (Little Joy), bit and kicked and hers (Impy) took off when you were on her and headed for the trees! Marshal stayed with horses longer than any of us becoming a kind and well-respected farrier, though I don’t know if he continued in this trade.
Your mom must have been so proud of all of you and the wonderful adults you have all become. What a rich life to have so many children and grandchildren survive her, a lovely legacy!
My heartfelt condolences to all of you
