I was very fond of Chuck and really enjoyed our art trip travels with ACAD and art events held over the years.
He was a bright, articulate, warm and kind man with a good sense of humour we all enjoyed . He is missed and remembered with a smile and good memories.

La Súper Rica in Santa Bárbara, will never be the same. Thank you Chuck for sharing some of your time with me.
Your friend,
Dan R.
It's so hard to know what to say at a time like this. When we last saw him (pre-pandemic), Chuck had lots of confidence about his future, and enjoyed showing us around Calgary and how it has changed. If you knew him, you'd know how reliable he was, what a gentleman he was, how much he cared about his family and his city. He had a great eye for quality, and appreciated it in everything, especially art and real estate. I knew Chuck as a friend; he lives on in happy memories of times we spent together. My deepest condolences to family and friends on this sad loss of a wonderful man. — Luke Shwart
Dear Mr and Mrs Barlow, I am so deeply sorry to hear of your loss. Chuck will be remembered well, by me, by many. His kindness, curiosity and empathy were so meaningful to me.

Mr. and Mrs. Barlow, and David I was so sad to hear of Chuck's passing we had such great childhood laughs, and I saw him often at Sunterra before I moved from Elboya. I wish, I could have seen him to say goodbye, terrible circumstances. You are in my thoughts and I wish you peace

Oh my goodness this came as a HUGE shock. I am so grateful I got to speak to you on the phone just before your surgery in NYC. Had I known then it would be the last time I would speak to you I would have never hung up. SO many memories, such good laughs. I will miss you terribly but you will never be far from my thoughts. Oh Chuck! How I will miss you, your smile and that laugh. Who will I share PeeWee Herman news with? Who else will appreciate quirky cookie jars? I can’t believe you are gone. Rest well, my friend, and suffer no more.

I loved the many conversations I had with Chuck at the Glencoe over the years. He always kept me up to date with news in the neighbourhood and his family.
He was a kind and caring man and he will truly be missed.

I am among the many who were shocked to read of Chuck's passing. What I will always remember about Chuck was his genuine kindness. We first met in the early 90's at fund raising events and throughout the years when we saw each other, Chuck always took time to talk and catch-up. A few years ago, out of the blue, Chuck contacted me and asked if I wanted to attend with him an estate sale that was only open to invitees. That meant a great deal to me and has not been forgotten. My deepest condolences to Chuck's parents and brother and the many close friends Chuck had over the years.
Gary K.
Our deepest sympathies to Gerry, Charles and David from the Curley family. Lots of love from all of us and we'll keep you in our thoughts.
I have nothing but fond memories of Chuck. We had some great art trips to the US, and lots of conversations about visual art, Honens and the things that make life worth living. He was always interested in you and took time to check-in, even if he was dripping sweat during a workout at the Glencoe. He accepted his diagnosis with an amazing calm, and just carried on. I will really miss his friendship. Mary Rozsa de Coquet

We are saddened to hear of Chuck's passing.
It has been over 40 years since we met Chuck and his family. He was a decent, sociable and charming young man then, and true to his heritage, he had never changed.
We know his immediate family and all those near and dear to him will miss him very much.
Our thoughts and sympathies are with his family at this sad time.
I am so lucky to have had Chuck's friendship for 47 years; there was so much fun and joy in both the simple times and in our travels and adventures. I'm heartbroken for the Barlow family loss and for all of his friends who I grieve with for this too-soon parting.
I send all my love and condolence to the Barlow Family. Chuck was one of my favourite people, always so kind and thoughtful and such a mischievous sense of humour. A gentleman in every sense of the word, I feel so lucky to have met him. I will miss him very much.

For many year, we had the pleasure of having Chuck as our next door neighbor in Calgary, and a wonderful friendship ensued.
Ironically, Gerry and Charles became neighbors at our home in Whitefish, Montana.
A warm, witty and caring human being, Chuck was always there.....and being in his company, was never dull!
Gerry, Charles and David.....we know that your many wonderful memories of Chuck, will be a help to you through this time of enormous loss. Our thoughts are with you.
Warmly,
Stephen and Diane Krasnow

Chuck was a great neighbour for many years. We always enjoyed our spontaneous "sidewalk" chats and appreciated the advice that he was always able to provide when needed. Along with the rest of the neighbourhood, we were grateful for his long time contributions to the Britannia community. Our condolences to Gerry, Charles and David.

To the family...
We are so sorry to hear of this huge loss. Chuck was a great friend, neighbour and made a great contribution to the Britannia community in protecting its caveats over the years. We will miss our regular chats at the Glencoe and around the neighbourhood and will miss his annual visits into our yard to collect rhubarb. Our last visit with Chuck was around Christmas time. He was looking great and feeling good and had a smile on his face. We will remember him this way.
Sending peace and love,
Janice and Jim Parker❤️
Dear Geraldine, David and Charles,
Sending you sympathy for your loss of Chuck. In these days of overwhelming grief may the memories of shared happy days help heal the hole in your hearts. What a beautiful picture in the obituary and so appropriate with that big smile and twinkle in his eyes. I will miss him and his phone calls.
Auntie Rose.
My heart is breaking for all of you, Charles, Gerry and especially David. I loved Chuck beyond measure and will never forget all the amazing times we shared together. They were truly some of the best days of my life! I wish I could be there with you all for moral support. I will miss him so much everyday. It's true God only takes the best. Rest in Peace my dear friend! I love you too much! Sharon Putaro Lyle
