Condolences
Karen, my sincere condolences to you and your family on your loss. I never had the pleasure of getting to golf with Pete, but I was fortunate enough to spend many hours with him at the Calgary Curling Club on Saturday afternoons laughing and talking both on and off the ice. Most of the great curling shots we made, the stories and jokes we told have faded in the archives of my memories, but I will always remember the big smile on his face when he talked about his rebuilt farm truck, and showed off the pictures of his latest pride and joy. I feel very privileged to have known Pete, he had an impact on everyone he met. I will miss, and always remember him.
Condolences Karen on the loss of your dear husband Pete. I curled with Pete and always enjoyed our times on the ice and up in the lounge afterwards. He fondly referred to me as his brother from another brother. Rest well friend and there aren't any bogeys in Heaven
I first met Pete when he was my neighbour across the back alley in Silver Springs. He was a great guy to have as a neighbour and was always obliging answering all the “dumb questions” I asked about car maintenance. We would sometimes celebrate the harvest season by lobbing ripe crab apples at each other from our respective backyard trees over the fences across the alley. Our shared love of golf led to playing many rounds together over the years, first at Maple Ridge and then at Water Valley. He was always up for a good laugh and a good joke. Whatever the occasion, whenever I had a conversation with Pete, I always needed to be prepared for the inevitable trash talking and needling (he was very good at it!). He was a one-of-a-kind dude and, like Happy Gilmore, I hope he’s found his happy place.
Dear Karen
I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. My deepest sympathies to you and your family. I pray that God will grant you the strength you need to get through this difficult time. May Pete’s soul rest in peace.
Love and hugs
Beryl
I first met Pete in 1985 working at a Canadian Tire and it didn’t take long for us to form a friendship. We spent many years working together while I was living in Calgary, and we shared lots of laughs everyday. Pete was a great mechanic and was never one to shy away from the tough jobs, and we learned allot from each other about our trade. I was honoured to be best man for him, honoured to be his friend, and I will always remember how we could make each other smile, no matter the day. Its time to rest now pal, the long battle has ended so now you can enjoy those perfect drives, those sunny days and know that you will live long in all our memories.

Pete has been a friend and golf buddy for many years. When I was Pete's neighbor, many years ago, he invited me out golfing to Water Valley. We continued to golf together at Water Valley for many years, then when Pete moved his membership to Carstairs, we got together for many more golf outings there. With our long, cold, golf-less Calgary winters, we began an annual trip to Palm Springs California, Pete, Jamie and myself. I know Pete looked forward to those trips to California, where we could break out the shorts and golf gear and get our golf fix. We'd often got in 36 holes a day and thoroughly entertained ourselves with our fun little wager for birdies. Lots of good golf, lots of bad golf and most importantly lots of laughs. Trips down south just won't be the same without Pete chauffeuring us around the California desert. Hit'em long and straight on those fairways in heaven Pete!
I am so sorry for your loss Karen. Please know your family at Wild Cat are here for you.
Janet
