Pete McDOUGALL

Obituary of Pete McDOUGALL

July 26, 1953 – London, Ontario
May 20, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Pete McDougall passed away at home in Calgary after a valiant battle with cancer. Husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, jovial friend, avid golfer and hot rod driver, Pete will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his wife of twenty-five years Karen, daughters, Sarah (Roberto), Courtney (Reece); daughter-in-law Lori; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his devoted canine Mulligan. Pete was preceded in death by his son Paul and they are now reunited.

Pete spent his early years in London, Ontario, with his sisters Anne and Robbie, and brother Paul, prior to moving to Calgary.  Golf was his passion and he spent many hours with friends and family on green fairways, which is where we hope he will remain and always be remembered.  He fulfilled a dream when he bought his Farm Truck, a fully restored 1963 Chevy C10 that he spent many hours polishing and enjoying.  His greatest pleasure in his final days was video calls with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren; it always brought such a beautiful smile to his face.

Celebrations of Life will be held both in Calgary and London at later dates when it is once again safe to gather.

If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial tribute in Pete’s honour to your local children’s charity. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Pete’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

The family would like to thank the Alberta Health Services Palliative Home Care Team as well as all the medical staff at Foothills Medical Centre and Tom Baker Cancer Center for all their care and dedication.

In living memory of Pete McDougall, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, CALGARY, AB T3G 2T3, Telephone: 403-241-0044.
