It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jeremy Burton acknowledge his passing on Thursday, May 20, 2021. 

Jeremy Kenneth Burton was born at the Grace Hospital in Calgary on July 14, 1972, to happy parents, Kenneth John Rogers and Laura Anne Burton. Raised by his mother and stepfather Laurie Scheer, and working at his father’s firm throughout adulthood, he maintained a strong relationship and friendship with his parents and held them close throughout his life. 

Jeremy valued honesty, integrity and compassion, and above all, cherished the acceptance and love of family. 

He always sought to help those he knew, looking for ways to add to the comforts of their lives. Jeremy had a thoughtful and generous nature, tempered with a sense of equanimity. He was highly sensitive to those around him, ever-present and engaged in his interactions with them. Kind, sweet, gentle are the words that come to mind when thinking of Jeremy. He had a subtly gregarious spirit and was the quiet one-line raconteur at many gatherings. He was an ardent aficionado of all things ‘Star Wars', and sought to share this passion with his friends and family. We are blessed with the sunshine he brought into our lives. 

Jeremy is survived by his loving parents, grandpa Wayne Scheer, his half brothers and sisters, Adrian Scheer, John Rogers, Jenna Rogers, and Kendra Rogers; stepsister Liz (Alister) Morrison, and his uncle and caregiver Tom Burton, as well as the many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces and friends who have connected with him regularly.
