Condolences
Margaret and family. So very sorry to hear of David's passing. Sincerest condolences.
Shirley
Dear Margaret,
We are sending our very heartfelt condolences to you, Catherine and Stephen (and their families) at this very difficult and unique time.
May our prayers, loving thoughts and memories be joined with those of so many people who remember David as such a kind and sincere family man. You were amongst the first friends we made in those early days of immigration in 1981 (just 10 days after us!) and when we all attended Midlands United church.
Hugs to you.

Dear Margaret,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. So thankful we could be a part of the service, a beautiful ceremony for an exceptional man, we were blessed to know him.
Love and deepest sympathies,
God bless,
Maureen and Mark
Dear Margaret,
My sincere condolences to you and your family. David will be missed.
David and you were some of the first people I met when coming to Red Deer Lake. I'll always remember the times David and I spent together in the "Lost & Found", as we liked to call it, after church on Sundays. We had some good chats as we waited.
I will always cherish the stained glass David created as a wedding gift for Roger and me. It hangs proudly in my dining room window where the light shines through it beautifully and creates lovely rainbows.
Love to you,
Peggy Kett
Dear Margaret, sending heartfelt condolences to you and your family. The service was lovely. Thank you for having it live-streamed.
Dennis and I met you and David almost 40 years ago, when we joined Midlands in 1982. Time passed and you and David became great-grandparents. What a legacy. As well, another legacy is his talent with stained glass and the caring he infused into each piece. It's a comfort to know the pieces he created for his church family continue on at Red Deer Lake United Church.
I pray you are gentle with yourselves and take all the time you need as you remember this fine husband, dad, grandparent, great grandparent, friend, advice-sharer, and joke-teller.
Tender hug.
Jackie
Dearest Margaret and Family - my sincere condolences to you all on David's passing. He was a true gentlemen and a fine man always with a smile and a kind word. Our church family will miss seeing him but his memory will vividly live in his stained glass artistry. May you find comfort knowing that his life was well lived and that he is at peace.

Thank you Margaret and family in letting me attend virtually, the lovely service for David. I was surprised at his passing, and so have been dealing with my grief over this. He will be missed for his honesty and a wry sense of humour. Mary Lou Alexander
Margaret, we are so sad for your loss and for our loss of David among us at Red Deer Lake United Church. You are both so deeply loved in our church family. We, like many others, were met by David in one of our very first visits to RDLUC with his warm and caring welcome. We were fascinated as he introduced us to the story of the beautiful stained glass windows that he had created. Although we didn't get the opportunity to know him well, we are so thankful for the foundational love and caring that both of you have made present in our lives since we joined RDLUC. May God give you comfort and peace each day and know that we also care deeply for you. Ralph and Irene Carter
That was a beautiful ceremony. I am so sorry for your loss, David was an amazing man. Lots of love Margaret. You are in my thoughts.

Rein and I were sad to hear of your loss Margaret. We first met you and David at the church service held in the auditorium of the Father Lacome centre shortly after we moved here from Toronto in 1987. Rein first got to know David a little better with the work related to the building of the church. An exciting time ! Over the years we have come to rely on you and David as a steadfast presence at any service. David always had a warm smile and greeting for our family. He will be missed.
The last visit we had together was after one of the concerts at Red Deer Lake when we shared at buffet dinner together with the
Howards at the Gold Bistro. So nice to catch up on our lives and your travels.
Our deepest condolences Margaret to you and your family.
Dave and I are very sad to hear of the passing of David. Please know Margret that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers at this time of
sadness.

Warren and I are so sorry to hear of the passing of David. Our deepest sympathy to you Marg and your family. We’ve known you both ever since our kids were little and we attended Midlands United church...and then Red Deer Lake United church. We enjoyed David’s lovely warm smile and conversation after church services were over. We always enjoyed his stained glass work and was so happy when it was incorporated into the church at Red Deer Lake united. We’ll always remember David when we see his stained glass windows.
Sending you our prayers and thoughts to help you through this sad time.

Margaret and family -
Our sincerest condolences of the passing of David. I have known both David and Margaret as staples of our church community since I was a girl at Midlands, and now an adult with my own family at Red Deer Lake. May you find comfort in knowing that we all thought of David as a true gentleman, and our church community won’t be the same without him. RIP David.
Kristin Stearn (Yerex) and family
My partner and I are not 'regular' church goers however on one of our very first visits to Red Deer Lake United we had the good fortune to sit behind David and his wife Margaret. David was so quick to welcome us to the church and and through our getting acquainted very humbly mentioned that he had made the stained glass pieces on each side at the front of the church. On subsequent visits if David wasn't there his 'windows' always reminded us of his kind and welcoming spirit. Our deepest sympathies to you Margaret and family. Danny and Aileen
Our prayers are with you, Margaret, and your family. We have so many great memories of David from Midlands, Red Deer Lake, and Spruce Meadows. He always had time to chat with us and his smile was warming. Our last chat was over a year ago at Rockyview was he was waiting for tests. We'll miss you, David. - Dan and Gloria Wall and Family
To Margaret and family, our sincere condolences on the loss of a very fine husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. We were privileged to meet Margaret and David when Midlands United Church amalgamated with our church, Red Deer Lake United. Immediately, we loved David's wit, sense of humour, and infectious laugh. David was a true gentleman, always quick to offer a kind word or a friendly smile. He was active in church life and was a former Midlands board chair. Because of his amazing artistry at creating stained-glass windows, our church has been beautified in a way that will be a lasting legacy to his memory. May you, his family, take comfort in knowing that his suffering is over and that he will live forever in your hearts. Love and blessings.
Farewell David
Thanks for the memories we have of so many years ago. The rainy weekends at Spruce Meadows cooking your British Fish and Chips. It was a great time for the Midnapore United Church Volunteers.
Our deepest sympathies to Margaret and her family.

Margaret and family, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of great loss. David was truly a gentleman who was admired by anyone who had the good fortune of knowing him. We appreciate his dedication to the church (Midlands and Red Deer Lake United Church) and the significant contributions he has made through the years as a board member, leader and active member of the church community. We admire and appreciate so much his artistic talents and his wonderful stained-glass creations. Truly, his legacy will live on. We hope that you can take comfort in many good memories of a life well lived.

Sally and I send our deep condolences to Margaret and the family. We have known David & Margaret since we moved the Calgary in 1997 and joined Midlands United Church. Through the ensuing years at Midlands and Red Deer Lake United Church we have spent considerable time socializing and volunteering together. David was great with young children; whether it was leading our two daughters & other children in the construction of stained glass & cement stepping-stones for the church garden, or sitting in the row of chairs behind our family at Midlands and making funny faces at our baby son to keep him content during a church service. David was a true gentleman whose knowledge & demeanour had a positive influence on people who had the opportunity to know him. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in people’s memories and the beautiful stained glass windows at the church which he made.
My love and thoughts to my nearest but furthest family. I wish I could be with you to support you. My memories of Uncle David is seeing him with his camera bag and smoking a pipe, I used to love the smell of it when ever visiting England. Whenever I think of him, I hear his laugh. I was so thankful for him looking after me with Aunty Margaret when I visited Canada for Catherine's wedding. Rest in Peace Uncle David, love Clare Steve Meg & Cassie xxx
