Condolences
Marion is a lovely lady; kind and generous. When I first arrived in Calgary 17 years ago, I was welcomed into her quilting group with open arms, and made to feel right at home. I appreciated the warmth and hospitality; it made a wonderful difference to me to be welcomed in such a way. Thank you Marion! Sarah Jones, Mom.
Hi my name is John Karperien and I attend Bonavista Baptist Church. I used to see Marion all the time. She was great! She'd come to church driving this nice car. When Marion got out, whether Summer, winter, spring or fall she ALWAYS dressed CLASSY and with good taste and not overstated but with taste and pinache!! On top of that her makeup was VERY tastefully done! And that was EVERY TIME!! Marion also was WITTY and a GREAT conversationalist!! I am 27 years younger than her and was TOTALLY impressed with how she carried herself! My sincerest condolences to ALL the family. I'm sure that NOTHING I've told you is of surprise. What a BLESSING she was to me! CAN'T WAIT to see her in HEAVEN!
Marion will be dearly missed. A queen pin of our church, Bonavista Baptist. A loving, open-minded, traditionalist. A class act. You will never walk alone.
Our deepest condolences to Marion's family. She was a true lady and role model to all who had the privilege of meeting her. She will be dearly missed. May God's love and comfort surround you during this difficult time of loss.

Marion was an extremely gracious lady and a wonderful role model. She bravely established an interesting and full life in Calgary following Walter’s death. Marion’s cheerful generous hospitality was appreciated by diverse groups including visitors to Bonavista Baptist Church, fellow bridge players and committee members as well as guests from Inn From the Cold and worldwide recipients of lovingly prepared baby quilts.
Marion often shared wonderful memories of her happy childhood including special adventures with extended family. The trans-Canada drives she shared with Walter were treasured highlights of her life. Marion thoroughly enjoyed the independence of driving throughout the Calgary region and welcomed the opportunity to visit Canmore and Jasper for women’s retreats. Her seat on any tour bus was consistently directly behind the driver and she saw everything.
Marion was an inspiration and it was a privilege to get to know her.
