Morinne, Jon and I send our deepest sympathies and thoughts to you and your family. We feel very blessed to have met Norm and though only having known him for a relatively short time, we feel lucky and honored to have met what we knew was a very special man. I always thoroughly enjoyed Norms visits when he came to the barn to see his wonderful horses, that I know he adored, he always brightened my day and will be sadly missed.
My sincere condolences to the Kennedy family on the great loss of their leader. What a pleasure it was to have met Norm through his love of harness racing. When horse racing left Calgary in 2008 for about 10 years, it was Norm’s unwavering positivity that greatly helped lead the sport through its darkest hours in Alberta. It was a pleasure to write a brief summary of Norm’s lifetime accomplishments when he very deservedly received the Ron McLeod Memorial Award for his large contributions to Alberta harness racing. The glass was never half full or empty but always overflowing for this classy leader and we will all miss the bright light in our lives called Norm Kennedy, who fought tirelessly for the overall good to this sport and never for just his alone.
From Bernie Ennis: For the family of Norm Kennedy: I, too , am a Scotiabank Pensioner formerly from Port Carling ON where I got to know Norm and thoroughly enjoyed his company and his great stories, as did my (now deceased) father, Lester Ennis, a great outdoorsman, and he and Norm spent a lot of time together with a number of their Port Carling cronies. My sincere condolences. B. Ennis

Very sad to hear of Norm’s passing. I always looked forward to seeing Norm whether it was here on Prince Edward Island or at the O’Brien Awards in Toronto. On behalf of the harness racing family on PEI, I want to send along our deepest condolences to the family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.
May you find much peace in the wonderful memories you have of Norm.
I started at Scotiabank Main Branch in 1976,I will always remember his wit, sense of humor, but mostly charismatic personality you were immediately drawn to him-
Over the years he would be known as “Stormin Norm” he really had the ability to draw the people in with his Scotiabank vision always getting the buy in of the staff.
Scotiabank was very lucky to have had him for the 40 yrs & I was happy our paths crossed you were a true inspiration!
Morinne & Family,
So sorry for your loss, Norm will be missed. Norm always took the time to stop and chat, ask how everyone is and especially about the kids. Norm had a great smile, he was one of a kind.

over 15 years ago norm befriended a couple of fellow goose hunters from the USA. our times with him near st Mary’s reservoir on the west raley colony became legendary and something I looked forward to each year around Sept 8. the breakfasts, caesars and commraderie that ensued will forever be etched in my memory bank. We never got to meet any family in person but he often talked about them at our hunting camps so we felt connected. He was a kind, friendly, talkative and generous man that I was fortunate to call my friend. RIP my friend. Bob Boeh
