Obituary of Lewis (Lew) Clark CAMERON

December 11, 1931 – Prince Albert, Saskatchewan
June 18, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Lewis Cameron, beloved husband of Marg Cameron (nee Schnell), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021, at the age of 89 years.

Lew was born in Prince Albert, SK, on December 11, 1931. He attended the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon and graduated with a degree in Engineering in 1955. Upon graduation, Lew worked for the Saskatchewan Department of Highways. 

Lew married Marg in 1954, and they moved to Calgary in 1957, where he worked in the petroleum industry until his retirement. As a Professional Engineer, he was a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA). 

Lew enjoyed spending time with his family at the cabin at Emma Lake. He also was passionate about golf, cooking and fishing.

Besides his loving wife, Marg, Lew is survived by his daughter Bonnie (Mirek) Zaoral of Calgary, three grandchildren, Lenore (Steve) Mannix of Brisbane, Australia, Luke (Candace Cowan) Zaoral of Sooke, BC, and Lauren (Kevin Chen) Zaoral of Calgary; and three great-grandsons, Winston, Barrett, and Merrick Mannix all from Brisbane, Australia. Lew is also survived by his sister-in-law Carol Devins and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Lew was predeceased by his daughter Nancy, his son Hugh, his sisters, Eleanor (Al) Mutch and Ruth (Jack) McGavin; and his brother Don (Carol) Cameron.

A Private Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Because of Covid restrictions, attendance will be limited to family only. Family and friends are invited to join Mr. Cameron’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted.
