Dear Margaret,
We were very saddened to learn of Derek’s passing. Although we did not know Derek well, he was always a very cheerful man and we enjoyed seeing him at the Welsh Society events. We wish you peace and comfort at this difficult time. Sincerely, Michèle and Craig Henderson and Glenys Goossens.
We are so saddened by your loss Margaret and family. Derek was such a strong individual who took on challenges with no complaints despite difficulties he faced. He will be missed and remembered.

Derek and I shared two things, the love of our homeland Wales and our involvement in Calgary Welsh Society.
I enjoyed Derek's gentle, quiet personality, his friendliness and his sense of humour.
Sincerest condolences to Margaret, Julie and Jacqui and to the rest of the family. I will miss you at our CWS events and when we have board lunches at your home, Derek. It's a pleasure to have known you, my friend. Rest in Peace.
