Condolences
Rose and I convey our sincere condolences to Jean and the Burton family on Ken’s passing.
I remember as if it were yesterday the day Ken and I formally met. We were sitting at our 6th grade desks in Mona Thompson's French class in Balmorals large brownstone building on 16th Ave NW in Calgary when Ken, sitting directly behind me tapped me on the shoulder and said "Do you know that my Mom works with your Dad at the Calgary Brewing and Malting Co ?". It was 1943 and my dad was chief engineer and temporary brew master at the time. Most eligible men were overseas fighting WW II while their ladies kept up the home front. Ken's Mom worked, along with many other ladies on the beer bottle filling line. Their job was to inspect every bottle as it passed in front of a strong light to ensure that it was full and free of foreign objects.
Ken and I hit it off immediately and were best of friends throughout school. We often rode our bikes up 4th street NW to Nose Creek where we would catch big fat frogs!! In high school he was a big hit with his Ford Coupe with its bright red leather
rumble seat. Ken was best man at our November 19, 1956 wedding at Edmonton’s Cosmopolitan Church just off 109th St. Following the wedding Ken and Jean drove us in his new sedan to the Cathayan Restaurant on White Avenue for our wedding
celebration and dinner. Unfortunately, Ken and I separated physically when I began civil engineering studies at the University of Alberta in September 1950. We kept in touch with Ken and Jean over the ensuing years, especially during the Christmas seasons. I know we are going to miss the exchange of Christmas cards which were always filled with news of Ken and Jean’s activities. I will have Ken and Jean on my mind as I celebrate my 90th birthday on July 18, 2021. How time flies!!

Dear Jean, we are so sorry for your loss. Deepest condolences to you and your family. Ryan and I will fondly remember many hours with Ken in the office following worship. Ken was so generous with his time, so dependable and diligent, and always just a completely lovely person. We will miss him. Our hearts go out to you, and we hold you in prayer.
Yours in Christ,
Joanne and Ryan Kellough
Sandra, Neil, Kathryn and families:
Avis and I are so sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. Ken and I go way back to when we first met in grade 3 at Balmoral School in the early ‘40’s and have remained life-long friends since that time. Despite my moving to the Toronto area in 1945, I’m grateful we were able to keep in touch over the years. I last spoke with Ken a month ago and we had a nice conversation recollecting old times and the visits we had with him and Jean over the years. They always welcomed us with open arms and wonderful meals, including Jean’s freshly baked dinner rolls.
Ken was a very special person. Kind, considerate and a devoted loving husband and father. These qualities live on and we will never forget the times we spent with him and Jean. Please know that our thoughts are with you all at this time.

Sending the entire family deepest condolences. Your Dad was a true gentleman and I remember him well from St. David's as well as our visits when still living on Butler Crescent.
May the many fond memories give you comfort during this difficult time.

Neil and family, I remember your dad fondly. He was a member of the Mustang club for many years and could often be seen at shows and events. He was a very kind man, and I have missed seeing him the last few years. My heartfelt condolences to you all. Keep your memories of this wonderful man close to your hearts!❤️
