Condolences
Dear Trevor and Family,
Our deepest condolences to your family, we are so sad to hear of Margaret's passing. I was so fortunate to get to know Margaret through squash. We were teammates at Bankers Hall Club and had so much fun with a lovely group of ladies.
Margaret always had a sparkle in her eye, she was a great competitor and had some very tricky moves on the squash court. But more than that, she was always kind, positive, smiling, easy to talk with, encouraging and just a super friend. She loved to laugh and share stories after games.
I will really miss her, my thoughts go out to you all.
xoxo

Margaret was such a lovely lady. So kind with a generous heart. I feel blessed to have known her and enjoyed playing padel tennis with her. She will be missed so much and I am very sorry for your loss.
I am deeply saddened for you all as Margaret was a beautiful human being who was kind, respectful, professional and had a sharp wit! She was super smart but really humble. It was a privilege working with her in the insurance industry for many years.
My condolences to Margaret's family and friends. I joined the MRU squash community a few years ago and Margaret was one of my favorite people. She was so accepting and helped me to improve my game (even during competition!) that was just the kind of person she was. She was kind and generous and sincere. She will be greatly missed.
Margaret was such a wonderful lady. Always so pleasant, kind, and genuine, and with a great sense of humour, I always loved chatting with her at the MRU squash courts on Sunday mornings. Margaret was one of my favourite people to play squash with, and I will miss her a lot. My deepest condolences to her family.
To Margaret’s family,
I am so saddened by the sudden loss of your wife, mother and sister. I have such fond memories of Margaret when we were at school together. I am thinking of you all at this difficult time.
To the Penford family,
My deepest condolences to you after hearing such terrible news. I feel very fortunate to have gotten to know Margaret over the last number of years while playing squash and always looked forward to Sunday mornings on the courts when she was there. She was one tough opponent but always so fun and friendly to play against. Margaret will be so very missed!

I got to know Margaret from squash at MRU. She was wonderfully engaging whenever our paths would cross. Always cheerful, Margaret would happily chat about squash, fitness or wine. I consulted her on my South African wines, whereupon Margaret offered her thoughts on pairing food and wine, offering particular 'SA' insights. Margaret will be sorely missed by myself and the entire squash community at MRU.
I am so sorry for your loss Trevor. I worked with Margaret at Aon (Reed Stenhouse) I will miss her.
Oh my friend! Friends for 45 years! Many happy times spent at Rhodes House in Johannesburg. How young we were!
When I think of a word that defined Margaret, the one that springs to mind, is, "ladylike" - in all areas of her life.
We had one of those friendships that, even if we hadn't seen each other for years, we could pick up as if we'd never been apart. My thoughts are with you Trevor, Jennifer, Geoffrey, Kerri and little Marlow.
RIP dear friend

I feel so fortunate to have had Margaret as my friend. We worked together at Aon and Lloyd Sadd. We had the fortune to meet with Margaret in Trevor in Mexico in 2020 - random chance Italian Dinner - was such a great evening with both Margaret and Trevor. It's such a great memory, that I'll cherish forever. So Sorry for family to lose such a great Mom, and partner. She will be missed.

We are so saddened by Margaret’s sudden passing. Trevor and family, we are holding you and your family so close in our hearts.
Margaret was a ray of sunshine on a rainy day. She was always “up” for an adventure whether it be a girls’ hiking trip, a round of golf, cycling or her passion…a squash match. I fondly remember meeting Margaret many years ago as an opponent in Interclub Squash. She was always fun to play with and definitely a good sport - win or lose.
She was a member of our bookclub and was so very well read. I really enjoyed her interesting perspectives on the books we discussed.
Margaret organized the weekly women’s golf and would faithfully book the tee times at 6 am on Sundays which was so appreciated by everyone.
Arnie and I really enjoyed cycling weekly in the summer with Margaret and Trevor with our cycling group. After a good workout, we always enjoyed socializing for potluck and libations afterwards. It was always a treat when Margaret would prepare some of her South African favourites.
Our hiking trips with the “Hiker Babes” were always filled with fun and laughter. One of the most memorable hiking trips was the week we spent in Utah. We guided her up a rock wall sandwiching her between us on the ladder and reminding her to look ahead, not down as she was fearful of heights. She had so much tenacity! She made it to the top and we applauded her courageous efforts. Margaret was always up for a challenge and I admired her enthusiasm. So many happy memories of her on the hiking trails over the years - catching up as women do. She always spoke so proudly of her family. She was overjoyed when she and Trevor became grandparents to precious Marlow. She would often share videos of her little sweetheart dancing away to the music with such cute dance moves.
We miss you, Margaret and there is a great emptiness in our hearts. You were such a kind, fun loving friend with a beautiful spirit. We will honour you by keeping your zest for life alive in all we do.
Our most heartfelt condolences to Trevor and his beautiful family whom Margaret loved so much. Raising a glass of the best red to you, our dear friend.

Margaret was a genuinely exceptional lovely lady who lived life to the fullest.

Monday Wednesday and Friday morning squash at MRU will never be the same, Margaret played hard always with good humour and the utmost sportsmanship. When the province opened up on July 1st we got together on the first available day, July 8th and played our last game. We relished every minute of it because we were so pleased that we were still able to play the game we loved so much, oh we were pretty rusty but it didn't matter, we were ecstatic to be on court. I shall miss our squash games, not to mention coffee and a chin wag afterwards.
My sincerest sympathies, I hope you can find some comfort as a family from your treasured memories.
Trevor,

I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Margaret’s sudden passing. Margaret was a lovely lady and a great friend whose love of family, furry friends, nature and her beloved South Africa always shone through. I will miss our walks, particularly at Glenmore Reservoir, where we would often meet up to share each other’s company and juggle coffees as we walked. My sincere condolences to Trevor and all of Margaret’s family. She will be deeply missed.

There are so many fond memories of spending time with Margaret. Squash, of course, was right up there. She had great sportsmanship and was a keen opponent on court. The luncheons, the bbq's, the parties...halloween, the saris, the wedding dresses, the tarts, Lynne's daughter's wedding and the hikes. She was a terrific friend and will be greatly missed.
Our deepest condolences to you Trevor and family. We are greatly saddened by her sudden loss.

Trevor and family,
We were shocked and so deeply saddened to hear about the sudden passing of Margaret. I was recalling all the wonderful times we spent being active together - playing squash and biking trips. Remembering how she always said she had a horrible sense of direction and would sometimes forget where she parked her car after squash, her happiness when she cuddled a cat and how much she enjoyed her life. In all this, her love of you and her family always rang strong.
Our deepest condolences,
Ethel and Peter
Trevor,
