Mildred WILLIAMS (nee Chase)

Obituary of Mildred Irene WILLIAMS (nee Chase)

April 11, 1946 – St Stephen, New Brunswick
July 18, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Mildred Williams, beloved wife of Neil Williams, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at the age of 75 years.  Mildred passed with the grace, elegance and courage with which she lived her entire life. The cancer took her body but not her radiant beauty. She died on her own terms - at home, in her own bed, in the arms of her husband Neil, who in the final minutes passed her into the arms of the angels and all those friends and family who went before her. She is not alone. We are not alone. Her love remains with us all.

Mildred was a member of the Calgary Centre for Spiritual Living and volunteered with Calgary Seniors' Resource Society. She worked with Imperial Oil from 1970 to 1991, and then the Calgary Seniors' Resource Society from 1993 to 2014. Mildred truly enjoyed hosting, baking, travelling to visit with family and friends, and walking dogs around Inverness Pond. Mil was a loving and attentive friend to many people, and had a great love for our dogs and cats.

Besides her loving husband, Mildred is survived by her three step-daughters, Christy Williams of Penticton, Shawn Daniher (Chris), of Calgary, Connie Richard (Mike), of Plamondon; and her four grandchildren, Payden Williams, Ty Daniher, Kallen and Jaxen Richard. Mildred is also survived by her brother, Jim Chase, of St. George NB; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  Mildred was predeceased by her parents, Kensel and Cora Chase, of St. George, NB.

A Celebration of Mildred’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mrs. Williams’ service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service.
