Obituary of Maureen Bernice “Mooney” MUIRHEAD

April 25, 1937 – Regina, Saskatchewan    
July 31, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Maureen “Mooney” Muirhead, beloved mother and grandmother passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at the age of 84 years.

Maureen was born and raised in Regina, SK and moved to Calgary with her young family in September, 1966.  Her life revolved around raising her children. She was very kind hearted and cared greatly for her family and friends.  

Maureen is survived by her children, Sharlene (Michael) Bauer, Bill (Antoinette) Muirhead, Christine (Dave) MacPherson and Dawn (Roddie) Davidson; her daughter-in-law Krista Muirhead, and her grandchildren, Ashley (Ryan) Bauer, Erich (Shannon) Bauer, Shawn (Kati) Bauer, Cole Davidson, Cassidy Davidson, Allan MacPherson, Laura MacPherson, Parker (Tori) Muirhead, Reid Muirhead and Sage Muirhead.

Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, August 05, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church (5340 – 4th Street S.W., Calgary, AB) on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Church Hall. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed here. The family would like to give our thanks to Dr. Ernst Grayvenstein, Riley Williams and the Home Care team, Lyndsey Johnson and the Palliative team, Alphonsina “Alpho” Bamvunyaki, and to the entire staff of the Southwood Hospice – for the love, support and outstanding care for our Mom.

In living memory of Maureen, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area.
