Condolences
George and I went to high school (UTS) and college (Trinity at U of Toronto) together. He was a genial, kind, and engaging person whom I liked and respected very much. We lived on the same floor of the Trinity dorms for two years and had many engaging conversations and good times. As I recall, George was an active member of the UTS and Trinity football teams, and he always seemed in good humour before, during, and after the games.
He was one of two friends who demonstrated incapacity at skating: one could only turn left and the other could only turn right. Following a Varsity Blues hockey game, at an open skating event, these two lurched around the ice supporting each other through the turns to the general amusement of the rest of us wannabe hockey players.
I once met his father and mother, as well as Ian, and remember them as a funny and witty group. My condolences to the surviving family.
George was one of the kindest person I know. I had the pleasure of working with him at Esso in the 90s. May his soul Rest In Peace.
