Condolences
Larry, you have always held a special place in my heart and always will. Thank you for the beautiful memories. You are missed. RIP
Larry was the grand master of keeping his personal life and work life totally separate from each other. I had lunch with Larry at least 1000 times. I golfed with him on weekends at least 100 times. Even when I worked in Fort McMurray, I made sure at least twice a month that I left in time to get to Edmonton in time for the Friday after work beverages (which Larry regularly attended even after retirement). When someone asked me to provide some personal information about Larry for his retirement party at Enbridge, I then realized how little I knew about what he did outside of work despite all this time I spent with him. This was a great lesson for me to make sure work does not define who we are and we can enjoy life fully after we stop punching a clock.
Larry was great at the running gag technique. Maybe it does not sound too funny out of context but I frequently think about when I am looking for directions and Larry's comment that "I do not think you can get there from here."
