Condolences
Sorry to hear of Freds death. We worked together at CF from 1968-1976 Edward Walz
We are very sorry to read about Freddy’s passing.
Freddy and I were best of buddies growing up in Western Monarch. We shared many exciting years together from grade one until high school roaming the hills as far as Grahams ranch. One of my most memorable memories is when Fred and I found an eagles nest and brought home two eagles to raise in our yards. We also climbed into a flea ridden coyotes den to rescue two coyote pups. Those pups didn’t work out but we could be found getting into mischief with our dogs Rusty and Prince. Often we just went to hunt rabbits which Minnie (Fred’s Mom) used to make fried rabbit. It took me a long time to figure out we weren’t eating chicken
For years we borrowed a dress from my Gramma Doucette to use as a Halloween costume. We could go as Aunt Jemima ( cause my gramma was a big lady) or we could both fit in the dress and go as a Siamese twin. Often we would tip over toilets and the have to go put them back up the next day. I’m sure Mrs Albright was glad to see the back end of the two of us. We never could figure out how she identified us with such a creative costume but she always would holler “ Delano and Ripley I’m going to tell your moms”. Lol I now know she recognized the two dogs. That small town offered us a wonderful childhood. Our childhood years were second to none.
I often revisit these days when I tell the stories to my kids and grandkids. Fred was my best friend and I shall never forget those fun times.
