Condolences
Dear Larry,
My sincerest condolences on the passing of your partner Allan. He was a kind and considerate person. I met him when he and I were living in Edmonton during the early 1980's. He joined and played recreational volleyball with the Edmonton Roughnecks Recreation Association, Alberta's first sports organization for the gay community. We continued our friendship for several years after he moved to Calgary, and I always enjoyed visiting him at the shop, Rubayait.

Steve and I were very saddened to hear of Allans passing. We always found him to be a caring and supportive friend, with a lovely heart. With us moving, and covid, we hadn't been in touch with Allan for quite some time, so it was very upsetting news for us to hear. We are going to miss him very much. Deepest sympathy to Larry and family.

I met Allan and Larry and Conrad on a Disney cruise a few years ago, we were all table mates. We had a lot of fun and we remained connected through facebook. Back earlier this past spring we got talking about how we all had to keep postponing and rearranging booked Disney Cruises because of Covid. Allan was very kind to invite my husband and I on a future cruise. I am sad that we never got to book it and take that cruise. I loved his Disney spirit and enjoyed talking to him about our travels and our trip to Aulani. I loved how recently he had been posting pics of his favorite Disney pins from their many trips. 2021 has been a challenging year for me and my family ( and so many others as well) and Allan was always able to see the bright side of things for me and offer encouraging words . He was so insightful. He brought so much positive energy to everything he did and he was supportive in our healthy living FB group as well. I will cherish his advice on our most recent chat 2 weeks ago. I will very much our online chats. RIP Allan, you will be missed by so many. Hugs and prayers to everyone.
I knew Allan from a Facebook group devoted to healthy living. He was a source of kindness, laughter, and optimism, and made me feel that I had a true friend up in Canada. I’m sure he had bad days, when he was cranky or grumpy or unsupportive (because everyone does!) but he never let that show. It’s not just that I’ll miss his Disney pins, or Christmas decoration photos, or pictures of Bun in your garden (or the stuffed version on its travels!)—I will miss a voice of kindness in my life. Our society will miss that. I suppose I shall have to be a little kinder now myself, to make up for this loss as best I can. Larry, I wish we could all hold on to just a bit of your sorrow for a few hours—for shared out among all the people who loved Allan, the burden would be very small for us, and you could perhaps get some sleep. Peace to you and all who mourn today. Pru Bovee (Burke, VIrginia)
My deepest condolences. Although we have never met, I know that we will meet some day in the great Magic Kingdom in the next realm. Peace fellow Disney fan!
Wishing love & comfort to your loved ones left behind.
