Obituary of Susan Eileen Lennie (nee Barry)

June 1, 1937 – Montreal, Quebec

September 27, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Susan Eileen Lennie passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021 at the age of 84 years and is now with her dearly beloved husband D’Arcy who predeceased her on September 20, 1996.

Sue was a warm and loving presence at Shell Canada Toronto HR for 30 years, Grace Church – On-the-Hill, Toronto, and Christ Church, Calgary, where she was active in Pastoral Care and the Altar Guild. Sue read stories to children in her neighbourhood school where she was known as “Grandma Sue.” She lovingly held newborn babies at the local hospital (her favourite job).

We who are left behind will remember her as a beautiful spirit who gave her friendship with warmth and openness. The light of her personality drew us to her, and her unwavering kindness thereafter held us close for the rest of her life.

Sue leaves her sister-in-law Florence, and nephews Michael (Diane), Doug (Debbie), and Ted (Heather); and Maggie Ecclestone, to remember and miss her, along with the countless number of lives she touched with her friendship and generous spirit.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Christ Church Anglican Calgary (3602 8^th Street SW, Calgary AB, T2T 3A7) on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 11:00 A.M.
