Honouring the memory of a dear friend:
Rita's spirit was consistently generous, courageous, loving, positive, and loyal in her friendships and family connections.
Generous in her treatment of others, she naturally added a positive element to the people she encountered.
Rita's loving spirit is the gift she has bestowed in each of us.

And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”
Dear Russ and Family,
Everyday I try to write a memory of Rita and there are too many to list. Rita was my friend, my mentor and most important she was my spiritual sister. One of my greatest memories was when I was struggling with my Faith, Rita said" Let's take a walk". So we walked across to the playground across from your house and she guided me through the Steps of Assurance. She knew the Lord and she did as He requested she brought back the Fruit. She was the best listener in the world, she would listen, never judge and then direct you to the one who was in charge.
My other great memory of Rita was her ability to open her home to you. You were always welcome at the Franklin's and you were always fed. I thought I could cook until I met Rita. She gave me her recipes and that didn't work so I had to record her. She had a heart of gold and was always there to listen. Her journey with us is over but not with Him, scripture is correct, she is definitely in Paradise. Much love Rita.
I am so sorry for your loss. Rita was an amazingly kind and Godly woman and I will dearly miss her. I loved her laugh and straightforwardness. It was always a privilege to have her ask how she could be praying for me and my family. I know that she is enjoying her eternity with her Saviour after leading a life seeking Him.
Dear Franklin family,
Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of Rita. I met and got to know Rita at Rockyview Alliance church. You could always count on Rita to be positive, straightforward, and coordinating prayer requests for others.
You are dearly missed and fondly remembered, Rita. Thank you for everything. Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints - Psalm 116:15.
Love,
Abi

Rita was a student in my typing class. She was always so cheerful. My condolences to the family. May she Rest In Peace.
My condolences to you family. Rita and I were Majorettes in high school.
To the Franklin family, so sorry to hear of Rita's passing. Met Rita shortly after the family moved to Calgary. We had both enrolled our sons in a church run play school and enjoyed many days of talking, laughing and enjoying the antics of our children. As so often you lose touch with people as your children grow and family dynamics change. Through out the years whenever we met it was just like we just saw each other and could still talk and laugh together.
Sincere condolences - Sandra Bailey
May God’s peace, strength, comfort and everlasting love shower you and your family during this difficult time.

Rita and I grew up in North Star Baptist Church in Lake Providence, LA where my father was pastor and her mother was an usher. I enjoyed her friendship until our paths separated when I went to Southern University, and a year later she went to Grambling. We connected at high school reunions or times when we were both in Lake Providence at the same time.
My condolences go out to her husband, children, siblings, grandchildren and other family members.
