Condolences
John was a super friend. Known for over 30 yrs. Hunted together and shared emails back and forth for years. Always positive and would give the shirt off his back. I miss his contacts and friendship. I’m sure John is in a happy place now. He deserves only the best.
I sympathize with you Carol, Jeanne, grandkids and great grandkids. To lose a loved one is never easy no matter what your age or their age . It leaves a gap in your life that cannot be filled. May your memories make you feel glad for the times you enjoyed together.
I met John during the Canada Day weekend 1982 while hiking the Ribbon Creek trail in Kananaskis, Alberta. He convinced me to continue up to Ribbon Lake. I spent the next day with John, two friends he was hiking with and his two dogs of the time. It was truly an inspiring weekend. In the years that followed, I visited John while I still lived in Calgary and then on my annual ski trips, or trips to run the Calgary Marathon. He was always quick with a joke and a drink, often home made wine or liquor, such as home made grand marnier. I will miss John. Elliot
