Obituary of Lee Reiner

Lee Reiner (nee Crerar), of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the age of 80 years.

Lee was born on the family farm near Angusville, Manitoba, on March 26, 1941. Lee lived throughout Canada including Winnipeg, Toronto, Edmonton, and Rocky Mountain House, before finally settling in Calgary.

Anyone who knew Lee knew that she was passionate about her multitude of hobbies, including golf, curling, dancing, and the not-so-occasional game of Wizard. Lee enjoyed volunteering her time at many organizations in Calgary, and she cherished her years volunteering at senior centers.

She loved visiting her family during the McTavish reunions and annual Crerar camping trips. She was very proud of her family, especially her grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Lee will be most remembered for her loving smile and warm heart.

Lee is survived by her beloved partner, Barry Williams; her son, John McTavish; and her daughter in-law, Laura McTavish. She is also survived by her brothers, Ivan Crerar and Don Crerar; her sister-in-law, Carol Crerar; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins, and friends.

Lee was predeceased by her parents John and Evelyn Crerar.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Heritage, 1708, 16th Avenue N, across from the North Hill Shopping Centre, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 2:00 PM. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.

Those attending will be asked to confirm one of the following, (A) COVID vaccination (date requested), OR (B) a negative COVID test (within 72 hours), OR (C) Medical exemption AND valid government identification (with name & date of birth) OR (D) Under 12 years of age.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 2:00 PM. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Ms. Reiner’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
