Condolences
I am so sorrowful at the loss of a dear friend. We enjoyed many good times together with the McGill crowd and again as they came to California to escape the snow. Lu's wit and quick repartee made our gatherings so much fun. and could she cook! Her golf wasn't so bad either. I will miss her very much and send love to Bryden, Grant and Lee.
Lu will be deeply missed by family and many friends. She made friends wherever she went, nourishing us with her bright smile, cheerful notes, the most recent jokes and gifts of love and time. Lu was the ultimate giver sharing her expertise to tutor in literacy, culinary arts, jewelry making, calligraphy and so many other talents. She would arrive with a jar of homemade preserves, a brightly knitted scarf, handcrafted jewelry, a newly found gadget, soya almonds at Christmas or a freshly baked dessert. Lu loved to entertain and was the ultimate chef and hostess. The Madill family was blessed to have Lu across the street and we miss her terribly. Our deepest sympathy to Bryden, Grant, Lee and her Montreal family.

Dear Bryden, Grant and Lee,
My thoughts and love have been with you and particularly today as you gather to celebrate Lu. It’s hard to believe Lu is not here physically – she was very full of life. Her strong presence and sparkle are here around the many that she loved, cared for and connected with. I feel like she has been present from time to time these last weeks – nudging, with a no-nonsense/playful spirit. I can imagine her and my dad sharing a few playful/to the point observations back and forth while looking down on all.
May you find comfort in her continuing presence.
Hugs to you all
Erin
