Obituary of Lesley Tara Schonhoffer

We are beyond broken to share that our most loved, Lesley Tara Schonhoffer, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021 at the age of 43 years, following a brief illness.

Lesley was born in Calgary, AB on March 30, 1978. She graduated from Dr. E.P Scarlett in 1996 and earned a degree in Applied Communications from Mount Royal University, receiving the Jason Lang Memorial Scholarship. As Lesley moved into the working world, she made a difference to all that met her during her time at ECO Canada and Canadian Natural Resources.

Lesley’s bright blue eyes and big smile were a perfect reflection of the beautiful person she was on the inside. Lesley had a huge heart, and she shared her love and thoughtful generosity freely with those who were lucky enough to know her.

Lesley was confident, curious, and creative. She wanted to experience everything life had to offer. Growing up she loved to dance, create elaborate performances, and take part in anything that involved speed and adventure. Lesley loved music, games, riding her bike “Riggins” and being creative with art and food. Lesley laughed easily and could spend hours reminiscing and sharing stories. Lesley was always searching for new opportunities, making lists of the things she wanted to do and try. She embraced every adventure that came her way.

The loss of Lesley leaves a huge hole in the lives of her mom and dad, Norm and Fran Schonhoffer, her sister, Stacey Pols and brother- in-law, Simon Pols. They loved spending summers together in Nova Scotia boogie boarding and searching for beach treasures. Lesley was an incredible Auntie and will be greatly missed by her nieces, Arie and Noelle, who she treated like her own. Lesley also leaves behind many loving family members and friends. Lesley’s friendships were strong and deep. She loved her friends, and they loved her like family. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
