Condolences
I had the pleasure of working with Jan in my first years at The Kidney Foundation hosting Screening and Education Clinics together and got to know her more through Kidney March. She also was one of the nurses who assisted my family directly as we worked though our life with kidney disease. She was, as everyone knows, organized, in charge, to the point with you, and a passionate but always compassionate educator. I will cherish my time with her and keep close what she taught me. Even if we only help one person in a day, that is one more than was helped the day before. My deepest condolences, she will be missed.
I distinctly remember one afternoon, Kerstin, Janice and I met for lunch at Earls downtown. We had a lovely meal and laughed a lot, but what sticks out to me is that over 15 years later, I still remember how easily it was to recognize the special bond between Kerstin and her Mom. I was sitting across from the two of them and the genuine love and affection they had for one anther was so evident and it truly warmed my heart.
With love, Amanda Roberts
Kerstin I am so sorry to hear of your loss of your mom. I know how special she was to you. We will miss seeing your mom in the neighborhood. She was always so nice and if we were outside she always stopped at the fence to stay hello. May the wonderful memories you have of your mom help through this difficult time. Condolences to you and your family.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff of The Kidney Foundation of Canada, Southern Alberta Branch, we send our deepest condolences to Jan's family and friends. Jan has been a dedicated Kidney Foundation volunteer and partner for many years, in many different roles. She volunteered at screening clinics, presented at public and patient education events, and advised many of our prevention related initiatives. Jan was also a cherished member of our Kidney March family. For years, Jan held a pivotal role on the Kidney March medical crew, organizing supplies, setting up the clinic at camp, and taking care of all the regular people who walked 100 kilometers over three days for a cure for kidney disease. We will miss Jan and know that she has made a huge difference in the lives of people living with kidney disease through her career and volunteer work with us.
Janice was an amazing nurse and volunteer for The Kidney Foundation and Kidney March. I had the pleasure of living near her in Mahogany and we crossed paths often in the wetlands with her dog Marlow. I saw Jan in October sitting on a bench looking at the pond and she said this is my piece of heaven. Rest In Peace Jan.
Jan and I worked in the Renal program for many years and her compassion and kindness permeated her work.
My favourite memories are of working in the Medical tent at the Kidney March and the fun we had tending to blisters and encouraging the Marchers. Jan you will be missed
