Condolences
To Betty, Tom and family. My sincere condolences on the passing of a wonderful, husband, father, grandfather, friend, professional, jurist and a long time neighbour of ours. He always had a warm and friendly greeting and was a true gentlemen. I was also fortunate to have had a matter before him on one of my professional files. He was inciteful, fair and extraordinarily competent.
My sincere sympathy on your loss.
Betty and family. My father considered Willis a friend, as I’m sure so many others did. He was that gracious. Condolences from my family to yours.

To Betty, John, Tom, Shannon and families,
Please accept my deepest sympathies on the passing of Willis. I will remember his wisdom and good humour fondly. Willis presided over my call to the Bar ceremony and he was a trusted source of advice in the early years of my career. My condolences on your loss.

I knew Bill over many years of legal practice in Calgary. Indeed the first civil trial I ever had was with Bill on the other side. He won; but I learned much, in particular how esteemed counsel conduct themselves. He was learned, kindly and unfailingly thoughtful throughout his career. I offer my sincere condolences to the family.

I met Willis 52 years ago while I was articling. He was a fine gentleman and a great and well liked judge. My deepest sympathy to the family. May he rest in peace.
To Betty and family: I am saddened to read about the passing of Bill...I will always remember how many great conversations we had at the Tripet Christmas parties. He was a wonderful soul...
Condolences to Betty and the O'Leary family. Bill was truly a special man. We always enjoyed talking hockey and sports and all things Calgary. He was a great example for us all!

My deepest condolences. Uncle Bill was such a kind person and I always looked forward to seeing him at family gatherings. He will be sorely missed.
My deepest condolences to the O’Leary family. I worked with Justice O’Leary at the Court of Queen’s Bench and Court of Appeal. Justice O’Leary was universally liked and respected by court staff and counsel. He was kind and a true gentleman but he was also thoughtful in his consideration of the evidence
He was especially generous to me taking time to share insights from our trials together. It was a great pleasure to sit with him. He was a gem and he is missed.

To Betty and family: With you, we deeply mourn the loss of a brilliant judge and kind and wonderful person. He was a colleague and mentor to me for more than two decades at the Court of Queen's Bench and the Court of Appeal. We studied French together in the judicial program. He overcame any vision challenges by his fine mind, dedication and hard work, and by his never-flagging enthusiasm for his service to the public. I missed him greatly after he retired, but always enjoyed seeing him at social gatherings afterward. While his family came first, the law was central to his life and his outstanding contribution lives on. His was a life very well lived.
Our profound sympathies.

Sad to hear of Willis’s passing. He was a fine and friendly man and an excellent lawyer, Judge and member of the Court of Appeal. Condolences to the family.
Judge Gary G. CIONI (ret.).
Deeply I am sorry for your loss. I remember so many wonderful times with your family as a child and will always cherish my memories. Sending much love. Rani MacInnes.
So sad, Betty, to hear about Bill’s passing. I have very fond memories of our times together, and although we lost touch over the years, those memories are front and centre. I have the picture with us at your wedding - it was such a great memory I sent it on to Teri, Rani and Kevin - they loved it. Keep well Betty. Thinking of you always. Babs MacInnes
