Obituary of Jason Maxwell Kingdon

April 4, 1976 - Minnedosa, Manitoba
November 22, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Jason Kingdon of Calgary, AB, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 22, 2021 at the age of 45 years.

Jason was born in Minnedosa, MB on April 4, 1976. He graduated from Minnedosa Collegiate, before attending the University of Manitoba. Jason most recently worked for BPD Zenith and was a Senior Maximo Solution Architect with over 21 years in the Calgary Oil and Gas Software and Maximo community. Jason’s knowledge, versatility, expertise, communication skills, and proven ability made him a highly respected consulting resource. He was at the top of his field, and was recruited for work as far away as New Zealand. He also successfully built his own Maximo consulting company.

Jason was an amazing father who took more pride in his sons’ achievements than his own. Children of all ages gravitated towards him; he will always be remembered as the “fun uncle". He loved animals, and due to allergies to fur, found a great friend in George the chicken. Jason volunteered as a soccer and hockey coach and was the builder of numerous projects with his kids. Some of those projects included building model rockets, growing hydroponic tomatoes, 3D printing and modelling, building computers and creating elaborate electronic Halloween costumes. Jason also enjoyed playing video games, D&D, hockey, dancing, snowboarding, cycling, hiking, camping, and swimming.

Jason will be remembered for his fun loving, quirky, passionate and caring character. He was never swayed by others’ opinions of him; he genuinely was his true authentic self.

Jason is survived by his loving partner Jennifer Stinson; his sons, Joseph and Samuel Kingdon, and their mother Erin Heneghan; sister Lisa (Serjio) Mendez of Winnipeg, MB, mother Donna Kingdon of Winnipeg, MB, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Jason was predeceased by his father Maxwell Kingdon.
