Obituary of Robert (Bob) Ryan

July 23, 1935 – Deloraine, Manitoba
November 30, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and dad, Robert (Bob) Ryan, at the age of 86.

Bob was born and raised in Deloraine, MB where he met his loving wife Evelyn. These high school sweethearts were happily married for 64 years. Bob graduated from Brandon College in 1956 and spent 30 years working for Amoco Canada as a geophysicist. He was well known and respected across the seismic exploration industry and was famous for hosting the annual geophysical barbeque. Bob enjoyed many sports but had a special love for curling as both a player and spectator. Bob and Evelyn were very lucky to have the opportunity to travel to many wonderful places together. They bought a log cabin at Hidden Valley which had always been a dream of his, and they shared many happy times out there together with family and friends. Bob was an avid gardener who spent countless hours tending to his plants.

We were blessed to have the greatest dad and husband. You will be always loved and never forgotten.

Bob is survived by his wife Evelyn, six children, Patti (Harley), Pam (Jim), Cindy (Sam), Cheryl (Kevin), Heather (Dale), Tim (Debbie); nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends.

A Private Family Service will be held. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200 – 325 Manning Rd.
