December 5, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

We are sad to announce the sudden passing of Kerri Lynn Fipke (nee King), our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at the age of 71 years.

Kerri was born on May 14, 1950 in Calgary. She graduated from Our Lady of the Rockies High School (formerly Bishop Grandin High School) in 1968. She had a fulfilling and successful career as a travel agent and cruise specialist. She loved creating memories for others. Kerri believed in the value of building community, and as such was a dedicated volunteer for many years.  Kerri volunteered in her children’s schools and in their extracurricular activities; namely as Team Manager for her daughter’s soccer team for six years. She was a member of the Southern Alberta Pioneers for 31 years and served as President in 2014. Kerri was very proud of her family and heritage, spending countless hours researching her ancestry and building her family tree.

Kerri was a lifelong learner, finding pleasure in cooking, travel, gardening and spending time with loved ones. She never shied away from adventure, new experiences and having maybe a little bit too much fun. Kerri will be most remembered for her sense of excitement and wonder, her open and welcoming heart, and her ability to make friends wherever she went.

Kerri will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of 38 years, Don Fipke; two sons, Kyle Graham and Daniel (Chantelle) Fipke; and daughter Katie (Geoff Chapin) Fipke. She is also survived by two sisters, Barb (Dwayne) Sluggett of Red Deer and Sandy (Rob) Pedlar. Kerri was the proud grandmother of one grandson Callaghan- the apple of her eye; loving aunt to many nieces and nephews; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Kerri was predeceased by her father Jack King, mother Edna Murray and her brother Rod King.

A Celebration of Kerri’s Life will be held in the New Year. Details to follow.
