Condolences
Mary was a beautiful person, so full of love and kindness and I feel thankful to have gotten to know her a little bit while working with Deloris. The two of them together had the best stories of family, friendship and so many laughs! Heartfelt condolences to Mary's family and friends. May she rest in peace.
May the comfort of family and friends help you through this difficult time. We were neighbours of Mary’s Sister Eileen and her husband Ray. We chatted many times when Mary came to visit next door.

We were so saddened to hear of Mary's passing. Her loss will be felt deeply in the Beiseker-Irricana communities.
We always enjoyed being around Mary to visit and share a few laughs together. She was such a kind and caring person.
Our heartfelt sympathy to Debby, Fred and all of Mary's extended family.
I am still in shock at the news of Mary’s death and am so sorry for Debbie and all of Mary’s extended family. I would like to share a short tribute to her:
I got to know Mary when she and Donna Hagel came to see me in my role of Community School Coordinator at the Beiseker Community School. They had two girls, Debbie and Raeanne that they wanted to get involved in an alternative to hockey – a game that I hadn’t even heard of – ringette. Of course, I was interested to help in my professional role but also excited because my daughters, Katherine and Eva, were about the same age. And so, we placed information in the newsletter and facilitated a get together of interested parents and girls.
That was the start of a team of kids and parents that stuck together for eleven years right up until the girls graduated from High School. During that time coaches Mary Bell and Donna Hagel worked together with Wally Book to lead the girls to numerous league championships as well as two each of provincial silver and gold medals. This impressive team owed much of their success to the sportsmanship of their coaches and the team spirit. Mary was always there with positive words for everyone and a competitive spirit that encouraged the girls to do their best.
Although I have been away from Irricana and Beiseker for several years, I will always hold a fond memory of seeing Mary’s sly grin as she followed the team off the ice after another win or loss. She will be missed and remembered.

To the Family of Mrs. Bell,
I was extremely saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Bell. I had the immense honour of crossing her path as a kid. She was, without a doubt, one of my favourite staff members and made an immense difference in my life, as I’m sure she has for every student who was lucky enough to cross her path. During the worst days in my life, I could always count on a warm smile, a hug and constant reassurance to get me through to the next day. Our community has lost one of the most beautiful, genuine and empathetic people that has ever graced it, a loss that is no doubt minuscule to the loss your family feels. I hope you find comfort in the memories she’s left you with, the impact she’s made in the world around her and all the love our community sends to you in this time of grief.
The world mostly Beiseker and Irricana lost a beautiful soul. The sight or sound of Mary always brought a smile and usually a story of something goofy that happened to her. She loved sports and it was mentioned that she could throw a ball fast and hard. It is true I was the catcher when we played ball together. Mary loved life and was a great friend. Her greatest love was her girl Debbie. Proud she was.
I will miss her so much.
My deepest condolences to Deb, Fred and Mary’s family
My sincerest sympathy and deepest condolences to the family of Mary Hagel Bell. We lost Mary but we gained an Angel. Rest in peace.
I have a very fond memory of Aunt Mary, when my sister and I were both young girls Mary coached our little league baseball team to the city championships. I’ll never forget running into Aunt Marys when we won that game. It was such an amazing experience and she was such an awesome Aunt. We’ll miss her, Colleen & Cheryl
Mary was a soft-spoken, caring, and loving person. As a young girl she excelled in sports. No one could throw a baseball as fast or hard as Mary. She was hardworking and witty. Her compassion for others was exemplary in the way she cared for and doted on her sister Delores.
Her daughter Debbie was perhaps her greatest achievement for she could not hide the love and adoration she felt for her. Her eyes shone at the mere mention of Debbie's name.
I have fond memories of growing up on a farm adjacent to Mary's. Along with cousin Linda, we rode horses bareback, built forts in the bales, swung from long ropes suspended from the ceiling in the hayloft, and played 'Kick the Can' for hours well into the night on warm summer nights. We had a simple, innocent childhood. Mary did things faster and with much more finesse than me. I was in awe of her and suffered from a serious case of hero worship.
Mary's death has left a hole in our hearts, one that can never be filled. Rest in Peace Mary. Love Patti, Kent and family
Sending our thoughts, love and condolences to all of Mary’s family. We knew her as a kind and loving soul with a heart of gold. Also, one who we could have lots of fun with sharing many laughs. Wishing we could be there to celebrate a wonderful lady. We will be thinking of you all.
Love,
Rick Kathryn & Paytin Hagel
