Condolences
Michael was a bright light. I am so thankful I was able to call him a friend during the 90’s while at art school. We then remained acquaintances and stayed in touch through social media. He will be missed and remembered by so many of us.
All my love,
Natasha Féline Jahrsdoerfer (Creed)
I’d like to send my deepest condolences to Michael’s family.
We met while working at Off The Wall together and hit it off so well that we even started hanging out together outside of work, and even continued our friendship after we left the company. Michael had such a GIV’ER attitude with life and I will truly miss his sassiness and style. He was pretty private with his age and birthday but none of that mattered in our friend circle. We shared so many memories of clubbing all hours of the night to even performing together.
I’d still in shock over losing such a wonderful friend but at least he’s no longer suffering. Rest In Peace, Michael and make sure the dance floor is ready for when I see you.
My heart is heavy to hear the passing of such a wonderful and spirited person. You touched everyone you met with your energy and personality. My deepest condolences to the family. Vancouver will never be the same again. Rest in power my friend.
Paz, Jonathan and extended family, Peter and I were deeply saddened to hear of Michael’s passing. We have known Michael since he was a wee boy and will always remember him for his vibrant and cheerful personality. We send our deepest condolences and regret we were not able to be present at his service to celebrate his life. May your faith, the care and support of family and friends give you comfort as you mourn the loss of Michael. May he Rest in Peace. God Bless.

My deepest condolences to Micheal's family and loved ones. I hold many positive memories of Michael filled with kindness, optimism, and creativity. I am inspired by the sparkly, energy he shined in every space her entered and his witty sense of humour. I cherish our times working together at Off The Wall, and I am grateful to have connected with you a decade later. You will be and are being deeply missed.
Love,
Jennifer

MEA will be dearly missed by his Vancouver family of friends going back 20 years. Always one to share the beauty of life in his art and swagger. MEA was a good friend that I could rely on and share my life stories and discussions with. I will miss you always and look to the stars where I know you will continue to shine bright. Love, Light and my deepest condolences to his family.
Michael we are forever grateful for your friendship and for being an amazing Godfather to Adrian.
We will miss our travels together, family gatherings, karaoke and drinking sessions.
You sent us a pckage at the end of November not realizing that was sort of you saying goodbye! You are very thoughtful even when you weren’t well. Like I said in my reply to you, you didn’t have to send us anything as long as you get better so we can create more memories.
We will forever cherish your letter to remind Adrian of you! We love you Michael. Rest in peace our dear friend. Long live the Fashionista!!!
Sending auntie Paz and Jonathan love and prayer.
Love and prayer,
Paul, Pia and Adrian
I share my sincere condolences with Michael's family, friends and loved ones. Michael is and will always be one of my very favourite people. He glowed. He embodies beauty, love, talent, generosity and style. We became fast friends while attending Emily Carr and I am so lucky to have been able to spend the amount of time I had with him. Those school days flew by but we tried our best to keep in touch. His world was filled with so much colour, adventure, art, excitement and love. Michael and I had made a promise to each other back then that we would both find fame one day by following our dreams and doing what we loved. I may not have reached our mutual goal but he will always be a star in my heart and mind. A Super Star! The world will be less shiny now without his sparkle. I love you Michael.
Kuya Michael, no words can express how much myself, your sisters, and our mom miss you. You weren't blood related, but living with us for over 10 years turned you into our brother. I still remember being 7 years old, knocking on your door, and asking you to watch Sailor Moon with me. Every family party, you'd pull out the karaoke and get everyone to start singing. Or you'd pull out the karaoke in the middle of the day and just sing by yourself. I can still hear your voice singing Rainbow Connection. You were always there for us no matter what, especially when dad and papa passed away. Any time I needed you, you dropped everything and were there. I've learned so much from you and I can't thank you enough for everything you've done for my sisters and I. We are so lucky to have you as a part of our family. I hope your dad, our dad, and papa have welcomed you and have taken you under their wings up there.
Auntie Paz, thank you for trusting our family to take kuya Michael into our home. We are sending healing, prayer, and love over to you and the rest of the family during this time.
Love,
Charo (and the Retuta family)
