Deb and I enjoyed alot of laughs when we worked together at Co-op and she made the funniest comments. She always talked about Jerry and the kids. I will always remeber her laugh.

Dear Jerry and family and all who knew and loved Debbie,

I am one of the eastern cousins who met and saw Debbie only infrequently when visiting family with my parents. My memories of her are few and distant, but I remember a vibrancy and joy for life and sports.

I join others celebrating her life and sending love to you all as you try to come to grips with the loss of her in your lives. I am so sad to hear of Deb's passing. I worked with her for many years at the Union office and came to love her dearly. She was one of the funniest people I know. Her sarcastic wit will remain with me forever. Godspeed Deb. Sending lots of caring hugs to Jerry, family and friends.

Your mum had the best sense of humour. She had such a big heart and helped so many people when she was at UCCE. I remember her always talking about her grandchildren and was so proud of them. You will be missed Deb.

I have too few memories of Debbie, and only ones formed in our youth when I would travel west with my parents and sister Karen to visit the western 'von Hagen tribe'. But those that I do retain, are of a vibrant girl with a zest for life and sports and a kindness that was always appreciated in the midst of the gatherings of von Hagens. Looking at the recent photo of Debbie shown here, the physical resemblance to her Mom Shirley is striking and I see the many other resemblances of kindness and warmth that remain in my memories of both - reflected in the comments.

Bobbi and I enjoyed a very relaxing Christmas Eve with Jerry and Debbie at Greg and Angela’s home, Debbie didn’t disappoint her Christmas Eve outfit a full blown bright red Raptors jersey, Jerry dressed the same were a stand out couple. Debbie’s enthusiasm for all sports was evident in attending many of her grandsons soccer games, we will miss her smiling face and loud cheers when either of the boys made a goal.
