Obituary of Deborah Ellen Pearson

October 25, 1950 -Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

December 28, 2021 - Calgary, Alberta

Deborah (Debbie) Ellen Pearson, beloved wife of Jerry Pearson, of Calgary, AB, left the world suddenly on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at the age of 71 years. She was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many and will be missed greatly.

Debbie was born in Saskatoon, SK on October 25, 1950 and lived there until she met and married her best friend and moved to Calgary in 1981. Later in the 80’s she began her long 28-year career at Calgary Co-op starting in Customer Service and then later as the Chief Union Stewart where she discovered her passion for helping others.

Debbie had a particular affinity for cats that she was often referred to as the “Cat Lady” by many friends and family, her two cats Prof. Bean and Maxine will miss her dearly.

Saying that Debbie was crazy about sports was an understatement, with her love of the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Raptors, she would do all she could to never miss a game and her dreams came true when she won a week-long trip to Toronto to see the Blue Jays play multiple games. When she wasn’t watching sports, Debbie was an avid reader, loved a good game of solitaire on her computer and the challenge of a good crossword puzzle. Travelling was an activity that Debbie enjoyed, and she ventured many places including Las Vegas, Niagara Falls as well as Hawaii and a two week drive down to California in a motorhome.

Besides her loving husband Jerry, Debbie is survived by her daughter Shannon (Scott) Tatoiu; her sons, Greg (Angela) Brose and Travis (Raeline) Pearson. She also had six grandchildren, Cody (Christine) Hawkins, Zachary Hawkins, Kyla Tatoiu, Matthew Brose, Andrew Brose and Jayla Pearson all of Calgary, AB. Debbie is also survived by her sister Cyndy (Bill) Brady of Martensville, SK; and her brothers, Brian Lee of Saskatoon, SK and Randy (Tammy) Lee of Martensville, SK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Debbie was predeceased by her parents Mervin and Shirley Lee, her sister Judy Henderson and her brothers Tim and Jeff Lee all of Saskatoon, SK.
