Condolences
Gertie meant the world to me and she is the mom of two of my dearest friends, Dar & Sherry.
Gertie was kind & loving, and had the sweetest smile. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of joining her and the family for many things, Christmas tree decorating & dinners, Mothers Day celebrations, Club house celebrations, Family celebrations, breakfasts at Dennys. She loved having family around & always welcomed me as part of it.
As a nurse, & living so close by to her, I jumped at any opportunity help her with any medical needs or other needs she may have had over the years. It was always my pleasure to help in any way I could and most importantly, it eased her mind. She was always so grateful and of course I never left empty handed. She always would send me on my way with meals or sweets for Geoff.
We would take drives together going to one of the girls places & chat away about everything. She always told me she loved my voice because she could always hear what I was saying. I loved how she spoke her mind. It was refreshing.
It’s all the little things we can do that make a difference in one’s life for the better. I hope I had a small part in that.
Someone who touched the lives of so many will be remembered in wonderful ways.
Rest In Peace Gertie and as you always said when things were challenging “ Let go and Let God” Love and miss you already.
Darlene, Sherry and families, it has been sometime since I last saw your mother. As a child living across the street, I remember Gerties's beautiful smile and happy disposition. Wonderful memories of times spent together. Condolences and lots of love

Condolences to Darlene ,Sherry and Families . My earliest memories of Aunt Gertie were around the year 1944. I lived in the same house with her and Nanny and Grandpa Evans. Gertie was nine years older than I .Dolores was her first niece ,one year older than I. I remember Aunt Gertie being very ill with Asthma and Nanny would boil the kettle and drape a towel over her head so the steam would open her airways so she could breath. They didn't have medications and humidifiers then. There were times we thought she would never get better. I was young but also understood the anxiety and worry Nanny was under at that time.Thank God she got much better and lived a long life and even had two beautiful children . R.I.P. Aunt Gertie ! Love ,Norma .Gone but never to be forgotten.
I was so glad to have the chance to meet Aunt Gertie last August. She wasn't really my aunt but after hearing Marilyn's stories, it felt like she was. She was an amazing lady, so full of fun and life. Sending my deepest condolences to you on the loss of your amazing mom and grandmother. Keep your memories in your hearts and know she will always be with you. Love and miss you Aunt Gertie.
Darlene,Sherry & families,
Life without Aunt Gertie, is hard to fathom.
I know that all of her family members, who went before her, were waiting to welcome her. That gives me some comfort.
Darlene and Sherry and their families, know that I couldn't love them more than I do.
It was my privilege to spend a lot of time with Gertie, over the last few years, being with her filled my heart.
Such a kind and loving woman, who had so much love to give. She gave that love freely to her family and friends.
She will never be forgotten.
Rest in Peace and Love Aunt Gertie.
Marilyn ♥
