Condolences
Sarah (Aunt Sadie)! You were my favourite aunt. When I would come visit you at your lodge, I would sneak up to your ear and ask you who your craziest niece was. You always knew it was me, (Leta). Our families spent many fun times together on picnics, fishing trips, and family visits. I remember enjoying sleep overs with Marg. You were always so good to me. One particular fishing trip sticks out in my mind at Jumping Pound Creek just west of Calgary. You and Clarence and my mom and dad set up fishing lines. Us kids didn't fish much, but we had a great time running around in the bushes playing hide and seek. You disappeared on one occasion to find a secret bushy area to relieve your bladder. When you came back you said a silly dog had come along and growled at you. You swished it away with a stick. Later on in the afternoon a ranger came by to ask us all to head home because a cougar had been scaring people in the area. Well, Sadie, you had scared away a cougar, not a dog. You were always a lady who took care of business very calmly with a strong forthright manner. Your strong character helped you be a super survivor of tough times. I will always remember you with a huge smile on my face.
Grandma I will truly miss you, I remember spending Summer Holidays with you playing cards and hopping at on $1.44 days
An Eternal Memory...
...Until We Meet Again
Those special memories of you will always bring a smile if only I could have you back for just a little while Then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do you always meant so very much and always will do too The fact that you're no longer here will always cause me pain but you're forever in my heart until we meet again
Love
Patti
A life well lived! I remember Grandma always happy and smiling, at 107 she still had a happy and positive attitude! Such an inspiration.
Some of my favorite childhood memories are playing Husker Du, Michigan Rummy for hours, and afternoon tea with her Welsh cakes. I can still picture her knitting, mending or doing crossword puzzles. Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa’s house with the whole family.
Some other memories I treasure are her teaching me how to pickle beats and carrots and make my favorite, her Welsh cakes. My sons first Christmas, made even more special because she spent it with us. How proud and honored I was when she came to my son’s grade 5 class to share her memories of growing up an Alberta pioneer and living on a homestead.
I love you Grandma
My Grandmother was my superhero! I will always cherish the time we had together. Grandma, I love you!
Sarah (grandma to me) was the light of the family. Also had food and you always had to sit and be quit around 1pm for Another World ( the Soap Opra) she watched, but you always got feet rubs at that time and tea and cookies with her. LOVE YOU GRANDMA WILL BE MISSED!
