Condolences
It's been almost 2 years and I still need to come to terms with it. My memories? You always "tried" to one-up me in the woodworking field. Were you good? Yes. However, during one of my visits out to Calgary, we had a little competition the was in fact judged. Both treasure chests were made with the same amount of material then displayed for judging with the judge not knowing who made which one. You DID learn that speed doesn't always win the race but quality does. You went on to accomplish many exciting projects. I recall you calling me for the plans to one of my projects. The first thing I told you was to "follow my instructions exactly". Two days later I received the call. "How come it didn't work out?" My answer, "because you didn't follow what you were told". I miss our fishing trips. I miss the trouble that we used to get in together at ALL ages. I miss laughing so hard when either one of us was telling a story. In short, I miss you more than anyone knows. Gone much too young in life but, you had touched so very many people. Some day brother of mine, we'll be at it again. I love(ed) and miss you so very much.
Sincerest condolences for your devastating loss. Dave will always live in my heart. He was a very kind loving warm and generous man and will be remembered very very fondly by all who knew him. There are not enough words to describe how much he will be missed. His love and wonderful smile will live on in all of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Monique Hoffmann

My Deepest and Heartfelt Condolences to Dasha, Danica, Carling and the rest of the family. I had the pleasure of meeting Dave and working in the Scotiabank Business Service Centre.
To Dave's family...I knew he was ill, but never did I think that he would be gone so soon. I worked with Dave at 17th and Radisson Scotiabank. He was my first manager when I moved to the Calgary area. We shared many a laugh together. He was the leader of a great bunch of people at that branch. We lost touch over the past few years but I thought of him often and will miss his infectious smile.
RIP Dave....until we meet again.

Dasha, Danica, Carling and the rest of the family. My deepest and heartfelt condolences on your Dad's passing. The memory that sticks out the most of your Dad and I growing up was lip syncing to Bryan Adams "Summer of 69" when younger. May he rest in peace and know that he will always be there watchj gnover you all.

My sincere condolences to Daves family. I too worked for Scotiabank. While I never met Dave in person we spent many hours talking on the telephone as he adjudicated the loans I submitted, preferably for approval. He always made me laugh.
RIP my dear friend
Dave has come to-mind a few times of late. To see him referenced here is a bit of a shock...
In the 1990s, Dave and I were partner-volunteers, through our respective employers, in Junior Achievement's "The Economics of Staying in School" program. I hit the jackpot being paired with Dave. We were on a mission to demonstrate the importance of finishing school to an age group without an adult lens. Dave kept us on track without being didactic. We were fortunate the assigned MRU classroom had a piano. Dave wasted no time entertaining the Grade 9 students (and I) with his talent, showcasing tunes written by one of his hometown bands, The Guess Who. He was proud of his Winnipeg roots. He was even more proud of his girls. He spoke of them a great deal. It's been many years since our paths crossed; yet, Dave made a lasting, positive impression. I wish him safe passage and offer my condolences to his family.
Carling, Danica, and the Middlestead family - I am so incredibly sorry to hear of the passing of Dave. I have many fond memories of him from my childhood that I cherish. May he rest peacefully in sleep until you all meet again. Nikki Russell-Murray
