Condolences
Our condolences to the Roger's family. Rick was one of a kind. Well mannered, easy going with one speed. We had many laughs and great conversations at TAF over the years I worked there. Rest easy, Rick. Hopefully you are walking the fairways up in heaven.
My heartfelt condolences to all who loved him. I worked with Rick for 30 years at the Herald and remember well how kind he was, and how his smile could light the room. I took the liberty of copying some of the comments found under this obituary in the Calgary Herald Alumni Facebook group, where he was very highly regarded:
He was always so kind and such a gentleman.
A real nice guy and a pleasure to work with.
He was always pleasant to work with. I enjoyed working with him.
I am truly saddened by Rick’s passing. Rick and I worked closely together for many years. He had a tremendous compassion for others. He took the time to get to know people and learn from them. A real gentleman.
Sorry to hear about this. My prayers are with the family. He was a really great guy and always enjoyed chatting with him at work
Condolences to his family. I remember him fondly. I worked with him for more than 23 years as a Printer. Always soft-spoken and a gentleman. May he rest in peace.

Oh I’m so sorry to hear he has passed. What a kind and funny man. When I was getting near the end of my pregnancy with Carolynn, he told me not to worry, that he has experience with this kind of thing out on the farm. Rest peacefully, sir!
Awww.. He was a wonderful guy!! Enjoyed our talks everyday!
My condolences to the family

So sad to learn of Rick’s passing. Such a wonderful man. One of the great ones.
My condolences to the family.
I had the pleasure of working with Rick at the Herald and his daughter Tammy at Calgary Co-op. Both wonderful people. He was such a nice man and very helpful to me. Sending my best wishes to the family!
Very sad to learn of Rick's passing. It feels like Mr. Rogers is more appropriate, even though not his preferred title. More appropriate for a man that alway made you feel welcome in his home. Always showed interest in what was happening with you at school and maybe more importantly, with hockey. Always interested in your prank planning and keen to provide his advise. I loved his quiet, keen sense of humour as with one quick glance he seemed to let me know that he understood. Thankful for all those nights, from elementary through high school, where we roamed the neighbourhood and always seemed to end up back at Tammy's house. Thankful to Rick and Linda for being such great role models for all of us. Linda, Tammy and Mike, thinking of you and sending our love...
Tammy’s dad, when we were back in elementary school that’s what our friends called him, was a gentle, loving dad. It seemed he would do anything for Tammy and Michael. I remember in grade 5, back in 1981, for Tammy’s birthday, Linda & Rick took a group of Tammy’s friends to Calaway Park. It was so much fun and not at all ordinary for a birthday party. I remember thinking Tammy was very lucky to have a mom & dad that would do that for her. We were always going over to Tammy’s house, all through elementary, junior & senior high school & felt most welcome by both Linda & Rick. Tammy you were/are so lucky & I know this is such a enormous loss for you. My heart & thoughts are with you and your family. Hugs
Linda and family: Our thoughts are with you. Rick: we have such fond memories of all our time spent together, the many trips, fun camping trips, time in Yuma. Rest in Peace
Linda and family
We were so very saddened to hear of Rick's passing. We have many fond memories of time spent with both of you in Yuma. Sending you hugs. Rest In Peace Rick

Mike,
My sincerest condolences to you and your family during this incredibly difficult time. To lose someone is hard enough but to have him pass suddenly is an immeasurable loss. Thinking of you all as you grieve the loss of your wonderful Dad.
So sorry and saddened by your sudden loss. Hard to believe such a good person has been taken so soon. Our sincere condolences to you Linda and the entire family. It was a privilege to know him. Rick & Georgee
To the entire family, I am so sorry for your loss. As a kid I spent a lot of time at your house, so I remember that Mr. Rogers was so kind, quiet and patient no matter how many friends were over. I always felt so comfortable and welcome.
My sincere and deepest condolences.

1974 Coeur d’Alene my first bar beer. Thank you Uncle Rick! He said it didn’t matter that I was only 16. Apparently I looked 19 or at least he told me I did. I did not look to be 21 however. Something I found out in Spokane when they kicked me (us) (Rick Mike and Steve) out of the bar there. To know Rick was to know you’d have stories to tell. Saddened by his sudden passing, always to remember his kind ways. With our love and deepest condolences, Gary, Maggie and family.
Linda, Tammy and Mike, So sorry to hear about the sudden loss of your husband and dad. I have many memories of Rick, or Mr. Rogers to me. I remember as a teenager coming in your back door in Whitehorn and Mr. Rogers would be sitting in the family room watching tv. I always made sure to say hi to him because I liked him even way back then. He always gave me a “Hi Cheryl, how are you?” and a big, friendly smile. Such a lovely, kind man.
My heart breaks for all of you, deepest condolences. Love Cheryl Koch
