Obituary of Roderick (Rick) Rogers

Roderick (Rick) Rogers, beloved husband of Linda Rogers (nee Dain), of Calgary, AB, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at the age of 76 years.

Rick was born in Calgary, AB, on November 17, 1945. Rick was employed with the Calgary Herald for 40 years and worked as a Printer and Supervisor in the Composing Room where he made many lifelong friends. Rick had many passions and interests including golf, scuba diving, Hot Rod collector cars and travelling. The many travels took Rick and Linda through North America, Australia, Europe, China and cruises with family and friends, with Maui holding a special place in his heart.

Besides his loving wife, Rick is survived by his daughter Tammy Rogers-Kurta and son-in-law Randy Kurta, son Mike Rogers, two granddaughters, Claire and Gabrielle; brother Mike (Arlene) Rogers of Calgary, AB, three sisters-in-law, Virginia Armstrong, Audrey Dain, and Laura Michaud; brother-in-law Jim (Alma) Dain as well as many nieces and nephews.

Many heartfelt thanks to EMS and Calgary Firefighters along with the teams at Peter Lougheed and Foothills Hospitals.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed at here. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice.
