Vicki was always so positive and supportive of the Sunnybrae Seniors Society. She often participated in potlucks, pancake breakfasts and fundraising events. We missed her when she sold her home to move back to Alberta, but we kept in touch and felt like she wasn’t far away. I am so sorry for your loss. I will miss her .
We bought the house next door to Vicki in 2018 and began to turn the donkey barn into a home. She was welcoming and always curious about how the Reno was going. She was the Treasurer of our strata and kept everyone on track, especially John, ‘mayor of Sunnybrae’, who was our president. Vicki was always busy giving her time to our neighbourhood, the Sunnybrae Hall and Tappen Coop even when it wasn’t easy to do so. She was excited about this next phase in her life, moving to her mom’s, and I’m sorry to hear it was short lived. Rest In Peace Vicki.
My deepest condolences to Vicki's family. I met Vicki in Sunnybrae when I had just moved here, and Vicki always made me feel at home. My first job interview for a dream job was online, and Vicki set me up with a computer in her kitchen and made sure i felt supported and encouraged and made a quiet space for me to focus. She always cheered me on with the things I was working towards, and supported me. She described her home in Sunnybrae as the "cabin in the woods" she had been waiting for. Vicki's dedication to building community was so clear, through her volunteer work with the Sunnybrae community association and the Tappen Co-op. I know she meant a lot to my partner James and was a dear friend of his after he moved to Sunnybrae. Sending lots of love to Vicki's family, she will always be remembered.
