Obituary of Ann Hiroko Konno

Ann Konno of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 18, 2022 at the age of 79 years.

Ann was born in Mission City, British Columbia on March 09, 1942.  In May of 1942 the family was moved to Southern Alberta. After graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1963 from the Galt School of Nursing in Lethbridge, she moved to Guelph to begin her career. She continued nursing in Winnipeg, Milk River, and later Calgary where she retired after a successful and fulfilling professional career. Ann accomplished much through her life and enjoyed golfing and spending time with all her nieces and nephews. She was always a big part of their lives and celebrated many memorable events together. She will be lovingly remembered for her flair for style, her hand made quilts, salsa, scrubbies, phenomenal Japanese cards, and her amazing baking and canning. She gave a lot of herself through her creativity to her family and friends.

Ann is survived by her brothers Akira and Naozo (Marie) both of Calgary, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, great-grandnephews, cousins, and friends. Ann is predeceased by her parents Yukio and Haru; brothers, Katsushige (Helen) and Tsutomu; sisters, Hisako (Masayoshi) Iwamoto and Sachiko (Harry) Ikebuchi; sister-in-law, Chiyeko; grandniece, Adrienne Van Nistelrooy; and nephews, Larry and Rob Iwamoto.

Reception and celebration of Ann’s life will be held at Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, in the Hospitality Centre on Friday, March 04, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences and memories can also be shared and viewed here.
