Condolences
For many years the Murray family have been great neighbours. Tom was always there with a helping hand in the various building projects I was involved in. He helped to build my garage from start to finish along with building the fence plus painting. Tom was also involved in the Talent Share Pool at St. Gerard’s, giving a helping hand to others to make their home life more pleasant. It was always a joy to work with Tom as many conversations in solving world problems took place. Our faith in God was also the subject of many discussions.
He was proud of his two sons, Mel and Brent and often inquired about our family and grand children. When our youngest grand daughter was 5 she wanted to play a trick on Mr. Murray. She took her doll and a bottle of water to Mr. Murray. He fed the water to the doll which resulted in him getting wet. He often talked about that.
Tom had a great sense of humour too with a good hardy laugh. We together built a few bat houses to distribute plus installing one in my yard. I often looked to see if any bats have taken up residence. Coming home from a weekend outing, I saw a bat was stuck in the small entrance. I managed to save the critter by climbing up the pole and pulling out an imitation bat put there by Tom.
Thank God for people like Tom.
