Condolences
I remember how Mr. Greenwood made me feel special (as one of their family members) on Christmas Eve when I was around 13 or 14 years old. And I remember a story that made me laugh about how he drove to work in downtown Ottawa and took the bus home, and then was surprised the next morning when he couldn't find his car! That was him! He was so laid back and such a lovely man. I will remember him fondly. Debbie
My condolences to Holly, Sandra and all the family.
Thank you to Sandra for notifying me of her father’s passing to join his loving wife Marcy.
I first met Marcy at a C.W.L. meeting when I moved to Delta, B.C. in 1996 and attended the same Catholic Church.
Marcy asked if I would take notes for the meeting that evening as the original lady was not well.
We became good friends as I stayed on as secretary. It was through Marcy that I met Rod, very much a gentleman, easy to converse with and yes, a comedian @ times. They were a great couple who I sensed had a great marriage.
I moved back to Alberta in 2003, Marcy & I kept up communication with each other, so I was delighted when she announced they were moving to Calgary. I was living in Medicine Hat by then, but took every opportunity to visit when I drove to Calgary.
It wasn’t long before I sadly heard of Marcy’s illness and was able to see her before she left this world.
Rod & I kept up communication via emails. Yes, he did I have some strong opinions about politics and Religion.
He’d often shared with me re: the various trips he & Marcy had enjoyed! May this last trip BE THE BEST ROD . R.I.P.
Rod
I first met Rod and Marcy in July of 1980 at the same time I moved to Calgary. They fast became my second parents. When I married Linda and we had our own children they too were included into the Greenwood family. Christmas’ are some of the fondest memories we have, Jeff still loves singing carols around the Christmas tree.
We were devastated when we lost Marcy and it just compounded by the loss of Rod. Rod was a generous, sincere and honest man. I will miss our conversations about current events, politics, religion and good books. They could be funny, sometimes emotional but always entertaining.
Lucky you to be back with the one you love. God bless.
Love Randy, Linda and family.
