Condolences
Anette has been in my life for as long time. We were in the same physiotherapy class at UA. I was lucky enough to get to know her on drives back to Calgary - the conversations about our goals and hopes, and of course occasionally solving the worlds problems. It was a happy surprise when I was later hired at the Holy Cross - and Anette was there as well. We worked together, supervised each other at different times in our careers, applied for the same jobs occasionally and became part of the group of physiotherapists (and families) that became life long friends. I am glad that I was fortunate enough to have her in my life,. My condolences to Anette’s family, to Jeff and Karen and their families
Anette was my sister in law. My favorite memory of her is the first time I met her when she came to Montreal to visit her brother Tom. I had just started dating Tom and was excited about meeting the first member of his family. Tom was doing his medical residency at the time and had to be on-call so I got to play tour guide for Anette. After a nice dinner out I decided to take her to Thursday's Bar. After a few drinks we had a great time on the dance floor. We laughed a lot that night and I felt like we had been friends forever. Over the years we enjoyed many Christmas celebrations and even a couple of trips to the mountains and the lake. I will miss her.
I know that her memory will be a blessing to everyone who loved her.
Love, Zelly
As a member of The Beautiful Biking Babes, I had the good fortune to spend a week with Anette every year for the past 25 years or so. Our paths did not cross much other than these yearly bike trips. It is surprising how much one can learn about a person in these short windows of time.
The word I would use to best describe Anette would be DETERMINED.
Our group has had some long hard days on the bike trail but Anette never gave up and rarely complained. She would be last to finish, with a smile on her face and a shocking amount of bruises, blood, dirt and grease on her legs.
That smile though! Anette had the best smile. It was so fun to see her joy at finding the perfect pair of Cole Haan shoes, enjoying fine dining or getting the giggles after a glass or two of good wine.
Over the years, Anette was a top choice for a roommate - she didn't snore or stay up too late and could easily be talked into fetching coffee in the morning.
I am so going to miss her!
My condolences to all her family and friends.
Sue Bradley
