Condolences
I was very saddened to learn of the passing of Doug. I had the pleasure of meeting him through a trip to Nashville with our Neora friends. I have wonderful memories of how kind he was and friendly. I will forever cherish my stained glass cross he made and gave to me. Gone too soon and condolences to you all.
To Ryan and the rest of the siblings, I only found out earlier today of your father and step father's passing! I was deeply shocked and very saddened as your Dad was a very simple, but remarkable man with many , many talents not with at least painting!
I first met Doug when he was working out of the Alyth Auto Body that was in behind what is now the Cross Roads Market Garden. what struck me was his sincerity to do his best with the old beat up rusty old motorcycle fuel tank. Over the years I would stop, and see him and would pass work along and would always recommend him to others who were seeking an expert to complete the painting work on their beloved motorcycles.
God Bless you Doug, as I will miss you!

Doug will be fondly remembered by us and our children, ( his grandchildren). He was a generous, kind and encouraging man. Always with an encouraging word and a big happy smile. We will miss hanging out together exploring, hiking, biking, camping, eating and sharing stories. As Doug always said: "It is always a pleasure to talk to you." We will miss spending time with you. Much Love and tears, Vickie, Timothy, Sydney, Trystin, Moody and Maha. Rest in Peace. Big Hugs. We Love YOU! You were such a good friend and a great grandfather.
Dear Doug….amazing father, brother, brother in-law, uncle, friend, creative, artistic, athletic, caring, loving, gentle, kind, generous, and beautiful soul. You will be fondly missed by all of us and I am so thankful for all the years our family had with you. Jesse and Shaun cherished their time with you, from the day they were born you made all visits with them so much fun, interesting and special, not just a visit. So precious, so beautiful, these memories will never fade.
Ryan, …Your Dad had soooo much love and endless time and care for you when you were growing up. In his heart the sun rose and set on you. He was an amazing Dad and you are proof of that. Your Dad was SO generous with his time and the ones he loved, and who loved him. When I look back I don’t know how he had the time to spread himself out like that. He brought so much fun and laughter to our family, always happy, always smiling, always kind, yet so gentle.
Glen, I know how heartbreaking this is for you. You and Doug were so close and best friends since childhood. It was so great that you lived only minutes away from each other in Calgary, for frequent visits, dinners, always there for each other to lend a helping hand, and sharing your delicious and healthy vegetables and herbs from your amazing garden. Love, kindness, caring, generosity, appreciation, and respect reciprocated between 2 brothers.
Aidyn and Doug’s family,…. I am so sorry for your loss, Doug loved his family unconditionally. He always was and always will be a beautiful soul.

So very sorry to hear about Doug’s passing. We have known Doug for many years he started painting our bikes when he was at Alyth auto body he was a master painter for sure. Doug was very generous he donated every year to The Calgary Motorcycle Toy Run since we started it in 2014. When I would ask if he wanted a receipt or advertising for his donation he always said “ I don’t want either I am just doing it for the kids”. I will miss stopping in to visit with him at his shop. REST IN PEACE my friend
Very sorry to hear this and my condolences to the Family. Doug was a super nice man and an incredible painter , especially his craft of colour matching original Harley colours. Doug painted a few of my bikes and even made time on a Sunday to accommodate my schedule. What a good soul he was. RIP my friend.
Ryan,
Sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. Our thoughts are with you at this sad time.
Take care Ryan, Wayne and Debbie Kozak
