Condolences
I was privileged and lucky to work with Dr. Comm when I was employed with Dr. George Nye, Maxillofacial surgeon. Dr. Comm was lovely, kind, charismatic, hilarious and a prankster.
I remember him coming out to the waiting room and sitting beside a kid who was getting wisdom teeth out.... he’d say “have you eaten or drunk anything this morning?”. Kid looks at him in all his surgical gear with a white face and says “no”, Dr Comm says that’s great cause I wouldn’t want you to die today”, kids face turns puce coloured “well I did eat cereal”, Dr Comm says “come back later at end of day for your surgery, lol.
My husband and I had the pleasure of bringing our 1980 Silver Shadow Rolls Royce to do Hanna’s wedding day. We got to attend the wedding which was awesome, I saw how much Dr. Comm loved his family.... it poured out of him, he danced with Shelby, I saw a different side of him, a great husband and father.
I cried so hard at work when I heard he had Alzheimer’s, he was too smart, too young and so full of life.
I’m crying now when I heard he passed.
Condolences to Dalyce, Shelby and the boys.
God bless you Dr. Comm , fly high with the angels!
I was privileged to work with Glenn in the OR at the General and Belcher. I learned that it is possible to circulate with loud music. We did the Wuzzles every morning we could. It was a Calgary Sun puzzle in the paper. It was a race to who'd crack it first. Thank you for sharing the video, I knew he was in final stages but did not know when or where. He loved being a prankster, we shared a lot of common interests and stories. I think this will be my motto "Don't be so afraid of dying, that you forget about living ".
Dalyce & Family;
I have just returned home to Calgary from being in the USA for > 25 years....and was moving the weekend of the memorial service in Glenn's honour. So sorry to have missed it - but sincere condolences to you all nonetheless.
I will never forget Glenn - he was an amazing Dr., and a prankster, and I considered him a true friend..... will surely miss him.

Our sincerest thoughts and prayers for Glenn's family. He was a special guy who now rests until the Savior's return! God bless each one of you as you mourn his passing. He no longer struggles with the challenges of Alzheimer's.
Dalyce, Shelby & families,
So sorry to learn of Glenn's passing. We know he battled his illness bravely, and with grace. Our deepest condolences, and may your many memories of this amazing man bring you comfort.
Dalyce & Shelby & family. From someone who worked with Glenn daily for over 20 years, my condolences. He was a goofball. Sometimes he was even a collaborator when it came to practical jokes. But no-one could compete with his ability to compose limericks, which he would post on the morning communication board. Sometimes to the consternation of the "authorities". Anyone remember the stolen/lost shoes incident at one of the scotch tastings? Or the time he was called for the Pick List and answered from somewhere in the Caribbean: "Umm, I might be a day or two late......" Backstab Boys and Gas Who. All just part of his character.
Of course I was also familiar with his work at the AMA. We weren't always on the same side of an issue, but he was respected and recognized for his strong support of Primary Care and initiatives to sustain and strengthen their position in the medical hierarchy.
Although it has been many years since he had to leave clinical practice, many of us still remember the old Glenn and he holds a special place in our minds and hearts.
Dalyce and family; thank you for sharing Glenn with us at Poplar Lane. It was a pleasure to get to know you all just wish it was under different circumstances. Glenn’s smile and twinkle in his eyes will not be forgotten. Hugs to you all as you start this next journey.
My sincere condolences to Glenn’s family. He was a memorable teacher to all anesthesiologists who trained under him — a beacon of light in our training who reminded us that kindness and fun are welcome in our specialty and in fact very important to our daily work lives. I will always remember him.
MY CONDOLENCES TO THE family. Glenn was a great man. He was my buddy.we did a lot together. Love careing for Glenn. He enjoyed Fun and loved to sing and play his guitar and always had a big smile . He was a trooper . I will miss my handsome buddy .May he rest in peace..
Glenn was part of my family (his mom and my dad were cousins) and we grew up in the same German community, roaming the same hills that led to the Smokey River. My last memory of Glenn was a short visit when his sister Trudie and he made a trip to Oregon, and although Alzheimer’s unwelcome onset was present, he still knew me and we shared memories and laughter. Hugs and prayers to Dalyce, Shelby, Trudie, Anneli and other family members ❤️❤️❤️❤️ A better day is coming! Much love, Lorie Ramey
