Condolences
Al was a great mentor to many a young CA like me who was fortunate enough to work for him at KPMG. On top of being a gentleman, I always appreciated his balanced advice and professional demeanor.
My condolences to his family.
I was very saddened to hear of Al's passing. We went through most of our schooling together, beginning at Capitol Hill, and my fondest memory of him was while we were at Branton one winter and he took me on as a project to teach me how to play hockey. What patience and good humour he showed until we finally gave it up as a bad idea. I so wish he was still with us.

Linda and family, please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of Al. I worked for him at Northridge Exploration Ltd and enjoyed my time there. He also got my son Allister a summer job there. Sincerely, Roy Smith.
Our condolences to your family. We had many enjoyable wonderful years watching Allan and Linda's son Michael playing goalie for the teams shared by our son and all their team-mates. Allan was a compassionate person alway concerned about all the team members whether it was baseball, hockey or golf. I will always remember Allan as a coach when the boys were first learning how to skate and play hockey and furthermore when he was a parent watching his boy play baseball. Allan was on crutches walking clear across the long field to make sure the boys were getting equal treatment. Allan & Linda were fine parents of Michael and Sarah and Allan will be missed by his family, friends and acquaintances.
We first met Alan when we moved to Calgary in 1978 and worked at Peat Marwick ( KPMG ) . Alan had just moved back from Toronto after doing a rotation in the firm’s professional practice department. He was the most senior of us as managers that year and was made a partner the next year . Over the years he and Linda became valued friends enjoying many dinners and outings together during our years at KPMG until our move back to Saskatchewan in 1991. We saw them briefly upon our return to Calgary 10 years later. He was a good partner and very supportive of us at KPMG. We will always remember Alan for his love of life, his intellect and the wonderful times we had together. We send our condolences to Linda and her family.
Murray and Monika Hunter
