Condolences
Gayle, Linda Lathrop, Kitty Dunn, Sharon Graham and I shared deep discussion meetings we called "Quest" and later we shared good food we cooked for ourselves called "Quest Cooking." These times were always so much fun, laughter insight and support for each other.
Another memory many who knew her will be able to share is Gayle's "muffins." She always had some in her freezer and she would hurry in to a meeting, always with muffins to share.
She was a gifted leader of parenting discussion groups, a deep thinker and supporter of a myriad of important social organizations in Calgary.
She was a very good friend and I miss her very much. Especially her wicked sense of humor.
Best memories of puzzle days. Gayle taught me the shapes of all the pieces - the angel, the big-head, the long-legged one... And every puzzle I ever have done and will do, I miss having her there to turn over all the pieces for me! Mornings over coffee led to chicken soup for lunch and then on to a bottle of wine as the day progressed. Magic!
Gayle was also the centre of our circle of mothers and kids in Lakeview, always with some kind and sage advice when needed. We will think of her often and miss her loads.

Gayle and I met 50 years ago while taking "Family Life Leadership Training" through the University of Calgary. We became fast friends as young moms through to the end of Gayle's life. Her wisdom on so many levels always helped me to look at and deal with life's events in new ways.We shared so much all through the years from the love of singing (harmonizing together and singing with The Harpies), jigsaw puzzling, sharing meals and thoughts, to our many getaway trips.
Gayle, my kindred spirit, my soul sister, you are sorely missed and your spirit is ever present.
My deepest condolences to all of Gayle's family.
I met Gayle fifty years ago when she took the leadership training course I was giving at the University of Calgary. At the end of the course, she asked: "Can we be friends?" We became fast friends and, over the years, our friendship continued to grow. Gayle was always there for me through joyous, sad and challenging times. Her genuine caring and concern were always evident. Like others who knew Gayle, I will miss her deeply.
