Obituary of Gayle Peters

May 23, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

Carole Gayle Peters of Calgary, Alberta, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 23, 2022 at the age of 76 years.

Gayle was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on June 11, 1945. She spent her life in Calgary with visits to see her brother Randy (Patti and Kayley) in Nelson, British Columbia. She met and married Donald Archie Peters May 13, 1968 and they raised five children: Stephen (Sheila, Tyler, Karissa, Marie and Denon), Kristi (Ava and Wyatt), Rob (Deanna), Kate (Christian, Paul and Anne), and Skye (Mike).

Summers were spent camping and roaming remote logging roads in the land rover, and many years enjoying weeks at Naramata on the Okanagan Lake with friends and family. Naramata will always be a special place for our family. Winters were spent skiing and Gayle was always a good sport about cold early ski mornings and teaching kids how to ski. There were many special trips to England to visit Don’s family (Linda and Ron) and she thought of Linda as a sister. Gayle always enjoyed weekend trips to Rushmere near Invermere to visit with Randy’s family.

Gayle accomplished much in her life and committed her career to family life education and helping others in need. She had a close circle of long friends whose strong friendship was very much valued. They supported her throughout her entire life. Gayle loved music and enjoyed many years of playing the auto-harp with her friends (Harpies).

A celebration of life for Gayle will be held on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at the North Glenmore Community Association (2231 Longridge Dr SW, Calgary, AB T3E 5N5) from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

In lieu of sending flowers, please consider a donation to the Naramata Centre Society (www.naramatacentresociety.org).
