Joe was born on June 28, 1932, in Southey, SK. After high school and moving to Regina, his sense of adventure took him to Edmonton, AB, and from there to the NWT. At the age of 19, Joe began what became a lengthy career with Northern Transportation Company Limited, working in the shipping industry along the McKenzie River. Married in 1966, Joe and Rose lived in Hay River, NWT, until moving to Edmonton with their two children, Ann-Marie and John, in 1972. In 1979, Joe and family relocated to Calgary where Joe began a new career with Canada Post which combined his love of walking and being outdoors.
Joe will be remembered for his enduring faith, friendliness, and kindness. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Rose, daughter and son-in-law, Ann-Marie and David; son and daughter-in-law, John and Holly; and five grandchildren, Denae, Adrienna, Chad, David, and Kaitlyn. Joe was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Clare and Rudy Putz; and is survived by their four sons and their families. Joe was also predeceased by his brother-in-law, John Eisner, and will be sadly missed by the extended Eisner family.
